I've asked so many youtubers questions for their Q&As and you're the first person that has even answered in a video. There are several musicians that I've met over the years who are of the opinion of "I don't have time for love! I've got my music!" So anyway, thank you for answering my question!

I knew you were going to say "Flight of the Bumble Bee" for the last question. I spent 14 years taking lessons. I started as a 10-year-old, and loved it. I had an amazing teacher who was so patient and kind. She helped me fall in love with harp and music in general. I don't play very often now, but watching your content has made me want to sit down at my Salvi Diana again. Thanks!

I love this Q&A i am so interested in music from an enjoyment position. I mess about with Ukes and guitars but haven’t become a master like my Nephew, Alex McMurray. Thank you so much for your performances and teaching about the Harp and it’s details.

This was really interesting. I'm a percussionist, mostly drummer these days, but majored in music education 20 years ago. I enjoyed hearing about the idiosyncrasies of the harp and the performer. I've often wondered some of these things. I've actually only spoken to a harpist once in my life. Also enjoyed the story at the end about the guy getting poked. I've played a lot of marimba, vibraphone, etc. but the layout and general tuning of the harp has always eluded me. Thanks for popularizing this instrument. I follow you on Instagram and really enjoy your song choices and your kindness to your audience. For such a pro player you have a very approachable personality that certainly helps non-musicians or hobbyists feel ok asking you questions. I'll suggest it there as well, but I'd love to hear you play a song by Radiohead called Fade Out (Street Spirit). I think it would fit well on the harp.

Heck yeah. The harp seems to have a ridiculous sound range. It’s crazy how many unique sounds you can make. The harp can sound like so many other instruments and I love it’s versatility. You picked an amazing instrument!

I have some you can answer in another video: 1. What do you like to listen to in your downtime? 2. What's your favorite major work for harp? 3. What's your favorite work for harp that you think most people don't know about? 4. Debussy or Ravel? Also I'm working on the Debussy Danses, which I am obsessed with, and do you have a recording of playing it? And if not you should make one please and thank you
@HarpistKT2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I do have the Debussy Danses! There are some older recordings, scroll way back near the beginning on my channel :)

So what I'm hearing is..."Theme from Night Court (stinky jazz face optional)" is still on the table. But for real, I took one semester of harp in college, because I wanted to take all the music classes I could that didn't require me to own the instrument (piano, voice, and...harp?). And I loved it. I practiced three hours a day. I didn't realize that dudes were even allowed to play the harp, and they told me that if I had started as a freshman (and not a senior), I could have kept going. Love the channel.

Flight of the bumblebee! That brings me back. I only played music for 5 years because painting is my passion. I played the flute and finally felt like I figured it out once I could play flight of the bumblebee. After no longer playing at school for a while I would bring out my flute and try to play just that song because I loved it so much and scales are great for practice anyway but without practicing regularly eventually I just couldn’t move that fast. It still feels good knowing that I could when I was a teen.

As someone practicing harp w/o a teacher, I could watch this for hours. I do think you might've benefitted from breaking this up into 3 or 4 separate parts. One somewhat long video makes me feel like this is it and you're not going to do this again. And that would be sad. Please don't be sad
