This beautiful melody and its sister song, Poetry Man, remind me of a time (4th-5th Grade) in Columbia, MD when all was possible and my Mother was full of dreams and thoughts of the future. She sang Phoebe's songs, and others, for my sisters and I, to lighten the mood of a financially tough existence. I thank her for that and will fondly remember her voice in this era of song. Rest In Peace Beautiful Ladies! Thank you MOM! I LOVE YOU! T

The late Phoebe Snow is one of the great female vocalists of all time. You'll not hear anyone that sounds like her. She had an incredible range vocally and stylistically she covered all grounds. This is her best album and then her last album "I Can't Complain" is equally as great. There she covers Jonie Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Johnny Rivers, Van Morrison & others. I miss her tremendously. I keep hoping they will find and release more music of hers.

Simply one of the greatest songs ever. This album was so very good, and the backup musicians were great. Love the sax.

Phoebe - to me - epitomises relaxing evenings, and especially cruisy Sunday arvos (which don't seem to be so common anymore :) Times when you Really Listened to music, rather than as a background to Life's Busy-ness ...... RjB🎶

Phoebe dear, you blew me away at BB Kings! You knocked them all out. You sold out the room! When I got off the subway, and saw your name on the BB King Marquee on 42 ST, my heart filled with joy. Your voice, your powerful lungs, your soul and vibes all came right thru big time. I gave you two CDs!! Hope you listen to them!!! Blessings to you. Keep the strength.

My contact at Columbia Records (early 1970s) called and said she and Phil wanted a tour of the newsroom. The anchors and everyone else were never so thrilled at having Phoebe Snow show up in jean shorts and a white linen blouse no less to watch the 11 o'clock news.

I'm always happy to keep my musical love affairs to myself, but it really does amaze me that Phoebe Snow's lyricism and amazing voice have passed into obscurity. There really is nothing comparable to her first two albums.

@Parsnip Mcgee - Well said. So sad that Phoebe's phenomenal talent is not widely-enough appreciated. And I agree - her first two albums in particular are incomparable.

Phoebe Snow sang backup on Paul Simon's 50 ways to leave your lover, my first favorite song. So 40 years later when I discover her as a wonderful artist, I had no idea I had been listening to her the whole time!!!

Forever indebted to this album for introducing not only to miss Snow, but also to Zoot the magnificent swinger. After hearing him here I sought out his recordings and had the great pleasure to see him live a few times at the Great American Music Hall and the Keystone.
