We live in Medford & we visited Harris Beach many times over our 57 years together. Thanks for showing the trail from the campground to the beach. Funny all the years we visited we never took that awesome hike! Now we're going have to go hike it. Love your voice, so pleasant to listen to. Not all hyper. I'll be joining you on more online hikes. Take care, Darlene

Personally I think Oregon has the best state campgrounds on the west coast. Winter time is the best because hardly anyone camping. A few rainy days then sunny for a few days. Good video russ. Keep them coming.

between the campground entrance and 101 is that little parking area you went past in the last video there is a path there that is easier than the one you took and it goes to the beach on the other side of those rocks which is also quite long and lovely!

That place is wonderful, Its easy to team up with a long distance bike guy, they don't need the parking spot and you don't need the back of the grass, and pay half that $20. If you want to stay in Brookings check out the dry camping area on a beach parking lot. Brookings has a lot of good choices. And theres a very good RV repair place close by.

All of Oregon's state parks are pristine. Don't forget to check put the cliffs and beaches in Bandon, gorgeous! In fact the entire coast is and they are not crowded like the CA beaches.

Been doing the oregon coast rv trip for nearly twenty years, (sometimes twice per year),. Harris state beach is where we'd usually go if there was a spot. It's really nice. The guy that recommended it, chose you a good one alright. Love Brookings. As for walmart - I don't believe so unless it was recently built. Folks in Brookings head back to crescent city for that. There's a walmart at the north end of crescent city just off the highway. Only about 25 mins. or so - no biggie if you really need supplies. On a side note; you passed two Dutch Bros coffee drive-though's. Always makes me think of road trip!!! That one in downtown brookings is packed during summer months. Sure wish we had one of those around here in the Monterey area. Sigh.....Cheers.

Russ as you head north another nice park is Cape Blanco and it's a first come first serve so be there by noon. But you can stay up to 14 days as it is no reservations. Good cell service and a neat farmhouse settlement. Then Carl G Washburn just north of Florence also no reservations and is a really nice park but no cell service there. Need to be at the no res parks around lunchtime or 1 PM to get a spot. Go for clams on the pier downtown Bandon.

Beautiful area.That path is a bit deceptive. That last leg to get to the beach is a doozy. It's probably easier to just walk down to the parking area, for beach access.

What a great campground! For some reason the Pacific is always cold, even down by Los Angeles. It must be something to do with the currents pulling cold water in from Alaska.

Oregon has some really nice ocean views. We're heading up that way next week to sight see and do some crabbing at McKinley's RV park then on to Washington. The only drawback is the smell of the Mary Jane burning at the rest stops in Oregon. California is right behind them though.

That look’s like the ideal campground Russ. The weather there appears inviting, too. An entire week at that site would be rejuvenating for sure. Thank you for sharing this with us all. Noticed that you’re using those little green propane bottles. Yep, they’re convenient - but those puppies can empty your wallet in a real hurry on long road trips. Check out the Flame King -YSN5LB. This is a small #5 propane tank. A bit pricey to purchase, but I’ve found it to be far, far more economical over the long run. Enjoying the up-loads👊😎...

That campground looks like a winner. I looked up the rates and found $20 for a tent spot and $30 dollars for an electrical RV spot. Do they let the vans stay in the tent spot?
@oldmillrd15064 жыл бұрын
Yes vans are allowed in tent spots. And Oregon does have the best state parks on the west coast, then California. Washington’s are ok but expensive.
