I’ve been going by Chase for the past 4-5 months and I feel that it really fits me. My middle name is Rae, the feminine version of Ray, a middle name I’ve never been particularly fond of. However, my mom has specifically asked that if I do legally change my name, I only change my middle to the masculine version. I agreed, but mostly because I felt pressured to. I do not want to live my whole life with Rae/y and I’ve considered going with the middle name shared among many of the men in my family. That being Paul. I just don’t know, how does Chase Paul sound?

Fascinating video from the perspective of somebody who has no idea how this video ended up in my search results. Worth the watch. Repeating Harrison's advice, find something that flows. Think of those hints early in life. My own insight, find something that works for you. And experiment at Starbucks or the Sandwich shop. I used to make up name just to hear something different called out. If it feels right, great. If it doesn't work, it's easier to move. Don't be constrained by your birth name.

Very early on, I decided that my first name would be Ethan. I liked the name, had a close friend (who also happened to be a trans guy, go figure) with the same name, and had never met a bad person named Ethan at the time. I thankfully still haven't. I mostly chose it, though, as a "for now" thing, because it clicked a bit. For middle names, I've been stumped. The only one I've been thinking of doing is (and bear with me here) Phoenix. I love Ace Attorney and have for a very long time, and also relate to Wright himself a great deal. I've met actual people named Phoenix, and I just think it's cool and symbolic. Rise from the ashes. Ethan Phoenix Q. sounds strange, though. Ethan is WAY too common of a name, and I'm growing more and more detached from it.

This is so helpful to hear! I've been Abra for 36 years. Micah is totally the name I'm going with, but it is weird to change it. I'm also keeping Abra as my middle name, because I don't hate it (it's just too femme) unlike my middle name... That face you made with your middle name is exactly how I feel about mine (it is a distinctly girl name)! But, yeah, I just asked my work to start switching over yesterday. My friends, family, and online experiences have been Micah for maybe a month or so? So, it's helpful to hear it's normal to not be used to it, thanks!

I went by the name Elliot for the past year till recently, I didn't think Elliot would be nice for when I got older, so I was kind of thinking of the future. 2 weeks ago I tried the name Noah because I've always loved it, I still love the name but I thought of religion every time I heard my boyfriend call me it, so it was kind of off putting since I am not religious. I am currently trying the name Nathan! I'm really happy about the name, but all of my friends told me the name Nathan wasn't good. My boyfriend is fully supportive of the name change though, he's also a trans guy. I'm still testing Nathan though because I like it. My opinion is what matters right? I am genderfluid but can't pass as anything other than femminene, and not out to anyone bar a couple freinds. I have told them what I would like to be called, I chose Bucky, and I kinda liked it, becuase I really like Bucky from Marvel. But when I am feeling more femme sometimes, it doesn't really go. SO when me and my sis were playing with the lego, we were trying to think of something easier to call our repunzel, and I just sudenly thought of Raphy. Then, yesterday it hit me that I could use that, and now I feel more comfortable coiming out to some of my freinds becuase I have a new name. I went to bed last night planning what I would say to them, and I really love the name now. Hi, I am Raphael (you can call me Raph or Raphie) , I go by he/she/they pronouns and I am genderfluid. Also I'm trying to work on possible middle names now too, I feel like I'll probably just go w/ my birth middle name, Mackinzy, but change the Y for an O to make ✨Mackinzo✨ either that or Mars idk rn 🤷♂️
