His first tour was as a junior officer and neither he, nor by extension his men, were in danger of being specifically targeted because nobody knew he was there. He was pulled out of AFG because a French journo spilled the beans about his presence. His second tour was as the co-pilot/gunner in an Apache. On the ground he was at the airbase at Camp Bastion (not needing special protection) and in the air there are only two seats in an Apache. Even if you could get a Special Forces op in there, it wouldn't prevent his craft from being shot out of the sky.

I did not realize how much I would miss the smile and kindness of Princess Catherine. I am from the US. I never paid much attention to the RF, didn't watch weddings, jubilees, etc, until all this drama started. I have so much more respect and admiration for Princess Catherine and Prince William.
