I thought Markle's wedding was strange. Fly on her face, ill fitting wedding dress, no socks on the little flower girls and a crazed preacher who droned on and on, making everyone feel awkward who was unlucky enough to have to sit through it. He spoke about colonialism at a royal wedding and in front of the Queen, and it was so awful that I felt second hand embarrassment from it. The royals exchanging awkward glances was so hard to sit through and my husband got up and walked out because the cringe factor was through the roof. Not to mention the strange empty and staring look on her face and in her eyes during her vows. And let's not forget all the celebs she had never met being invited to this insincere and fake circus. The whole wedding, if you can really call it that, was totally bizarre.

I loved the stories about being a princess. Even into my adulthood. But after what I witnessed with the life of princess Dianna I realised just how convoluted the Disney world was from reality. I also noticed how demanding and sacrificial the role actually is. After researching my own family tree which included centuries of aristocratic status in Britain and how my ancestors were treated in the past I have no love for the institution and no wish to be part of it. I was particularly appalled by how Harry and Meghan stole the show at the jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and notwithstanding they did the same at her funeral. I had the greatest respect for the late Queen and was horrified that they couldn't even allow Her Majesty to be the one recieving the laurels and respect for her great days, even as the last day she was Queen. As a result of this I did not even watch King Charles being coronated and I laughed at photos of Camilla wearing a crown. She looked ridiculous.

When I was dating a Filipino, my mom made a comment about wondering what our kids would look like if we had them. I'm a fair skinned red head. She meant nothing by it. She wasn't being racist. She was just curious. We did end up having an adorable baby boy. I think when dating outside of your race, it's perfectly normal to wonder who the baby will resemble more. Even people who are of the same race wonder what their baby will look like. The fact that Harry and Meghan made it out to be a racist thing is completely ridiculous. It's completely normal to wonder what a baby might look like. Especially when your with someone of a different race. I wondered what my little half Filipino baby would look like. So does that mean I'm racist against my own child? Absolutely not. They need to get over themselves and stop with these ridiculous attacks against the royal family. When Harry’s wife became Mrs Harry I thought that she was going to be a great asset (evidently I had not watched the engagement interview). Sure there was going to be a period of adjustment and a few little mistakes but I was pretty sure that she would find her niche. Then Mrs Harry came to Australia and a friend of mine had to deal with her on a daily basis, my friend simply stated that “she is a very unpleasant individual “. My opinion started to shift. As an unaware narcissist Mrs Harry totally believes her truth and cannot understand that other people do not. She absolutely does not think that she has done anything wrong, she is the persecuted victim, in her head she is a truly caring person. Mrs Harry sees herself as superior to everyone, her opinions are the only correct opinions and her brilliance outshines everyone else’s. The world revolves around her and everyone exists to worship her and do her bidding. It would be unsurprising for Mrs Harry to jump into the political arena, after all the residual benefits would be enticing, besides she believes that she and she alone can change the world. I never watched any of their shows or interviews, but I saw a clip of her saying she didn't know Harry was a prince when they met. I was like wow, no. Diana was one of the most beloved and publically covered royals in modern times. When she died, the story was front page on the newspaper in the town that I lived. You could ask someone on a south pacific island that lives in a hut and they would know, at least, that he's a British royal. It is possible, but highly unlikely. I had a friend in college who had no idea who William and Catherine were in 2013. Only two years after their wedding. But in Meghan's case, an absolute lie given the evidence of her interest in Diana as well as her blog on The Tig talking about Will and Cate's wedding. She also visited England several times and there are photos of her in front of Buckingham Palace as a teenager. It completely baffles me that Meghan lied, if they supposedly met on a blind date, she could've just said "I recognized him and knew who he was, but I didn't know much about him beyond his status as a member of the royal family." I understand her concern about looking like she was just after the crown, but he's a well-known person and most Americans definitely would have known who he was. I remember being pregnant three decades ago with my only child, and my then-husband and I spent many hours wondering if she would have his light-blonde hair or my light-brown hair & his blue eyes or my green eyes. I can just imagine how many more hours (and how much more fun) we'd have speculating if we were a interracial couple!
