The Princess of Whales has been with the RF for a long time and she gave herself time to learn & understand how the monarchy operates. She’s in sync with her husband, father-in-law, Princess Ann and has a beautiful relationship with Sophie and the rest of the family. TQ must have been happy & comfortable with how things came out. Her demeanor makes her a natural fit in that role. Her rapport with KCIII is just amazing. Reflects well on the family she came from. Slavery started by indigenous people capturing people they’d defeated in war and selling them eventually to Arab slave traders. The Arabs then sold these people to Europeans who started the trans-Atlantic slave trade. So many other countries and peoples are involved. The reparations payment may go into the pockets of corrupt politicians/governments/administrators etc. It probably wouldn’t go to those who’ve applied for it. How many generations would you have to go back to be able to get the payment? What proof is needed? How many of the applicants would be related to the corrupt officials who’ve applied for it themselves? Which countries would it include? Many people in the developed (N America, Caribbean, UK, France etc.) world are better off than still being in Africa. PS it’s not just the UK who were at fault, but we are the only country who are seemingly being blamed for it all. Don’t forget we were the first country to outlaw/make slavery illegal. It’s still happening in other countries eg the Middle East is one of the leading slavery areas of the world. Start pointing the finger at them and demanding reparations from them.

Honestly - if I have to hear one more round of journalists musing on 'olive branches', I'll scream. All William did was - in referencing his mother's influence on his interest in the homelessness initiative - mention that she had taken himself and Harry to see a homeless charity many years ago. It was a simple statement of fact, and just being accurate about things. And the media is losing their minds, like it has some sort of deep meaning. What utter rubbish. ARO is an utter and total mess, from start to finish. No legal paperwork in place, no business plan, no marketing strategy - and no products. Complete train wreck. Harry and Meghan have issued something to get them in the press - Every.Single.Time there has been something coming up from the royal family - so I don't believe for a moment it is Harry and Meghan leaving things alone. They are rather pathetic - but it hasn't worked for them.

No, it wasn't any sort of way back for Harry, even less, for his Cable TV wife. I'm sure Harry grasped his name said by William as a mention that has an attachment it wasn't. Prince William just put forward his mother in a positive light. Unkike Harry, who has used his mothers name to get people to attache his Cable TV wife to Diana. She has no attachment to Diana at all apart from wanting her jewellery.

I’m with Phil Dampier. The people who deserved apologies and reparations are long gone. Today’s generation have not been subject to enslavement. Also, why are they not demanding apologies and reparations from the African nations complicit in the slave trade. Spain has a terrible history of colonialism and slavery, has the Spanish King apologised.
