THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It broke my heart when I read earlier that Harry had died. It made me sad to think another part of my childhood had literally died. I cherish "Night Court" and now I will cherish this collection. Thanks Donz for reals. By the way, 65 just doesn't seem old anymore! : )

Thanks for the collection. Harry was/is just thoroughly entertaining to watch. He represents a different time and a very good time. Success does change people, and you can see it in both Dave and Harry. I don’t mean inflated egos so much as dealing with the sometimes ruthless demands of reaching a pinnacle of show business. Both good men we owe a lot too.

I remember as a kid watching a show on HBO or Showtime where Harry did a geek trick by pushing a needle through his arm and having a lady pull it out. She only pulled it out half way so Harry told her try again and pushed the needle back in. I will never forget watching that as a young boy thinking that was the coolest trick ever. Harry was underrated and under appreciated but I will never forget that man.

I was about 5 to 10 years old, but I remember when Harry Anderson was on TV for Night Court for reruns or a special of somekind, we would watch it. Commanding attention in this day and age is extremely hard but I think Harry could have done it.

Unbelievable. I was just going to leave a comment with the news of his passing since it was just 4 hours ago to alert of you if this in the off chance you'd have a Letterman appearance of him, and wow ... Here it is, posted minutes after he died. You are remarkable and as always thank you for all that you do. The Associated Press of timely yet vintage Letterman material.

RIP, Harry. You are sorely missed. Hope you didn't embarrass St. Peter with a monty at the pearly gates too badly. My own little head canon is that Harry The Hat actually was Judge Harry Stone indulging his darker, hustling busker side now and again in Boston, far away from where anyone would recognize him. 😎

Dave called out that there was a 2, but Harry didn’t hear him so he didn’t correct him and the audience never really saw the red cards, so they took Dave’s word for it Getting that 2 to switch to a 3 is what really blew Dave’s mind.

"A lot of folks are disappointed I went straight," he says. Yeah, I wasn't always crazy about the "Night Court" scripts calling for Harry to occasionally get serious either. Harry did okay, but he just wasn't a dramatic actor. He was best (brilliant even) when he was playing "Harry The Hat," which was pretty much who he was. A clever, slightly smug (which was intentional) but always likeable entertainer/raconteur.

Here's a lesson I learned the easy way. Never play cards with a magician. I was with my girlfriend (at the time) visiting a good friend of hers for dinner. At one point during the evening, he said let's play some poker. Upon looking at my cards I saw I was delt a full house of Aces over Kings! I couldn't believe my good luck, so I bet big and was called by my girlfriend and her friend. When we laid our card down, my girlfriend had a straight flush, I had the full house, and her friend had a royal straight flush!! I couldn't believe my bad luck! Then my girlfriend told her friend to come clean and that's when learned he was a slight of hand magician and could deal any hand to any player at the table!! I'm still in amazement of people with this skill and have no idea on how the do it and make it look so natural. So never play poker with a slight of hand magician as it will cost you $$$. I'm talking to you Mr. Anderson... LOL One of the truly great entertainers. He is missed by many.

Harry used to run con jobs here in Austin. He palled aroung with Turk Pipkin, a mime. Trust me here, I've seen Turk. He's awesome. The two would have been amazing to see together. They both did street work. Once, Turk decided to entertain the line I was in for some show at the Paramount. You ain't been entertained until a world class mime does it right in front of you. I mean RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!! For quarters, for pittance. Don't really get that experiance much anymore. Robin Williams started as a street mime in NYC.
