The world needed Harry Chapin to be around a lot longer.

Ain't that the truth! Can you imagine if he were here to witness our current debacle?!?!?!?!
@tammieparrishmiller36695 жыл бұрын
@@pattiwilliams4695 I was thinking that very same thing. I wonder what he'd be singing about today. Maybe he would be making some sense where nobody else seems to be able to...only in song. If only. At least we have what he left for us to enjoy. There was a comment on The Letterman show on this same guys channel from a man who was at the site of the concert that Harry was driving to when he was killed. He said that most of the crowd just stayed and cried and played his music well into the night. I believe his name was Charlie thumbs or something similar to the thumbs part. It had me in tears.

That big man on the bass guiter singing backup vocals is the great Big John Wallace. He is still singing today at 77 years of age. Fantastic talent.

that dead dog story is a classic. Johnny loved having Harry on his show. Harry was an original. God loves Harry just like we love him. I will die and be reunited with my parents and family then I'll look for Harry.

It's been almost 38 years since he crossed over. I wonder what he would be singing about today. God the man could reach right into your soul.

I "permanently borrowed" that book from the library when I was younger, but have since lost it. Too bad since I loved all the poems and the artwork.

Same thing happened to me. Only I loaned my signed book to the same person twice and never saw it again. Still miss Harry.
It's now 2019. I didn't know he was a Sagittarius but it doesn't surprise me. So am I! It's so hard to believe it's been so long ago and yet 1981 doesn't seem that long ago to me. Time goes so quickly.

Wow! I have been watching these great clips of Harry all night. Thanks for sharing them. I knew Harry did a lot of the Tonight Show, but 19 times in 8 years is just amazing (and where did you get them all?). He also seemed to be a regular when Johnny was on vacation. Thanks again and keep them coming!

Correction: after watching the clip ll the way through, I realized that at 4:56, it switches to an earlier performance of "Tangled Up Puppet" from The Tonight Show. And the cellist was Michael Masters, not Kim Scholes. Sorry for my earlier mistake. 😝

@harrisgoodman15648 жыл бұрын
No, Dennis. Kim Scholes had left by this time and Yvonne Cable took over as Harry's cellist. For some reason, though, the thumbnail pic for this clip shows an earlier appearance with Harry in a turtleneck and Kim S. to his left.
