He is a beautiful humanitarian. For all the support he has given New Orleans he is just what we need and more. I only wish everyone on the planet who is able follows in his footsteps!!

Really enjoy Harry Connick's vibe on the standards. Fits him like a glove.

by the way Rblackwell, I listed to your songs on your myspace page and I'll give you props. You sound more like Sinatra than Harry does. Very nice. I just don't think that Harry has ever tried to do an Impersonation of Frank. Just more of a tribute to him. But dude, you can blow. People ought to check out your site

That's how Harry Connick Jr. followed Frank Sinatra's footsteps while doing the his cover songs including "All The Way".

Frank Sinatra started with the Tommy Dorsey Band ( Jazz & Gospel). However, Harry never wanted or intended to be like Sinatra. He preferred Nat Cole and Louis Armstrong.

+alan1963 He had no choice. He doesn't have the lungs. Frank was like Picasso, he could imitate anything.

Actually, he became popular through his rendition of "It Had to Be You," his big band version of the standard recorded for the hit movie "When Harry Met Sally" in 1989 for which I believe he won his first Grammy Award. Two of his song introductions were Oscar nominees ["Promise Me You'll Remember (Love Theme from The Godfather Part III)" in 1990 and "A Wink and a Smile" from 'Sleepless in Seattle' in 1993], as well.

No one can be "Sinatra" like Rblackwell says above but if you know anything about Harry pal, the guy is just tyrying to keep Jazz live and has done so very well the past 20 years, the same way Buble is doing now as well. Hopefully more Jazz artist keep the Jazz flame alive! And it's not a black or white thing. If you know the history, Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong were actually the first Jazz Pioneers

I was disappointed when the Today Show sent Harry Connick Jr to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina! Why? He's not a ral native of New Orleans. He plays at being a native of New Orleans. He's a native of Weston, CT, where he attended public school from 1970-1982. He's pictured in all the yearbooks for that time. His real father - not the old DA from New Orleans- who fronts as his father - is or was one of the top guys at Sony Music and a stockholder in Sony Pictures, who himself had a career in show business where he appeared under the stage name Frankie Vaughan. After firing Billy Bush over moral questions and Brian Williams for lying about himself, how in the world could they have Connick Jr as a replacement under such circumstances. He's lied his entire show business career! His New Orleans' accent is as phony as a three dollar bill. He's the product of rank nepotism in addition to having been convicted in 1992 of attempting to bring a gun onto an airplane. It's immoral enough to have him lie about himself for so long to the world, to glean attention for himself over the great sadness of the Katrina disaster and to have had him as a judge singers on American Idol, who themselves sing far better than he ever did or ever will. But here after Billy's firing, it's disgusting and beneath contempt on the part of the NBC leadership to have had him replace a person dismissed over a single moral lapse. Boo peacock! Boo...

Of course Connick knocked out of the park like he always does. But even more respect because he and the other musicians did this at the utterly unreasonable time of 8:46 am???????????????????????????? OMG. That's just wrong.

If Sinatra's dead, which he is, and you want to see someone sing this style live, it's Harry Connick Jr. This comes from both a Sinatra and Connick fan.

He smiles a lot more here than in the official music video for the song. I guess like a lot of performers, it helps him to have an audience there.

Thanks zzbmg2001 for the compliment I like what you had to say. But I'm not impersonating Sinatra. We have a very similar vocal signature. I like Harry I like buble but I love Frank. I'm singing with sound tracks I need a orchestra. KZbin video being recorded on an old camcorder will never give justice to my performance. My wife recently died of breast cancer. My Ford Plant job closed down. At 52 all I can do is dream and perhaps sing a little bit and hopefully make a few people happy.

Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, who won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1958 for the film "The Joker is Wild," which starred Sinatra as singer-comedian Joe E. Lewis.

I like Harry but when hear Harry sing It makes me realize that only Frank and myself posesses the Sinatra Voice. Sometime When I do live performances people say its scary that I sound so much like Sinatra. Can you imagine a Black Sinatra. Well thats me Reginald Blackwell The Black Frank Sinatra the only one in America I think. But Harry is still cool.
