Just heard this song in church today myself, we heard and sang it for the first time. It goes back to 1934, the info online says, and has been recorded by gospel greats and country singers including Johnny Cash. Had not remembered it from this movie, but this is a nice version.

Thanks @toecutter9112. It was just a spontaneous idea when I heard he'd died. Nearly 40k views later I wish I'd done a proper job and cut it from a good quality source. Glad you were able to find it.

This is the scene I play in my mind during those times when things are so bad, with no hope in sight, too weary to take one more damn step. Then I think of Luke, seeing him dig faster, one scoop after the other. Refusing to let the world break him and standing up no matter how hard he got knocked down.

Man that's some great music. Harry Dean Stanton had a unique voice like Kurt Cobain you could hear the pain and emotion in his voice. You could also see it in his face. True fact, he was dating Rebecca DeMornay during the filming of Risky Business and after. He had something going on to get someone like her at the time. All us guys like younger women but I bet she liked older guys, she had a serious demeanor and sophistication about her for her young age at that time, and she was strikingly beautiful.

She was 21 & new in town & she moved in with Harry Dean, who was 54. He ran lines with her for Risky Business. He kept telling her he didn’t believe her performance, so she kept trying till he did. She said he was very masculine, but wasn’t afraid to share painful memories with great emotion. {Plus he didn’t look his age & was gorgeous!}

Thanks for the information. I didn't know the running lines story. I've always liked movie backstories. Yes, he was a handsome dude and slender. I understand her attraction to him. Harry lived an interesting life.
