More like the 1930s -- I remember the 50s! You can still find some of those old public information film clips on You Tube.

@@peterwesson7324 These were shown in cinemas before the TV era. They tried to reproduce the effect with those little breaks and errors. BY the 50s they were still showing public info newsreels at the cinema but they had changed to a jokey, more irreverent style.

You still don't seem to be totally understanding these skits. These aren't skits that would be "cancelled" today. These are skits are mocking the conservative, sexist attitudes of the past. There really were "educational" videos like this from the 1920s-1950s that just look insane if you watch them today. These would only be "cancelled" (a meaningless word) today if they were SERIOUS about what they are promoting. Instead they are mocking the sexism of the past.
