Locking tuners makes it a breeze to change strings and if anything, they are probably the mest when it comes to tuning stability (given they are of good quality, which Sperzel, Gotoh, Grover and Schaller are), I can understand it if you make several windings on one, then you got the issue, but that goes with pretty much any tuner, and how they are wound on it. Locking tuners usually doesn't even have 1 full wind.

I'm looking to do a similar thing with my explorer. I'm getting a pickguard made, and have the option between .06 vs .09 thickness, and a 45° vs 30° beveled edge. Do you know the specs on this pickguard?
