Very clever. Id imagine a lot of people immediately went to that sketch after the video and youtubes algorithms picked up on it.

Harry Hill is one of the funniest comics I've ever seen live. Utterly bonkers and silly, but after twenty minutes I was bent double crying with laughter!

Yes I too saw the interview with bob mortimer by Sally Philips. ... and yes I was intrigued but did not look for this one... oh no.. I found it in my home page collection. I'm not sure that I found it as funny as she did.

This is Harry’s skill. Turning nonsense into a joke. No one else could take the stage and make this work expect for him

Doesn't need a punchline. Just hilarious to watch the madness of it.

I think the deadpan "...ridiculous situation to get into." is basically a punchline. At the very least, it neatly ends the routine with a laugh.

You won’t get the last like without seeing the rest of the show
@carlhartwell79782 ай бұрын
@@brianm2881 It was a nice line, but the routine didn't _need_ it to be funny. A punchline (for me) is by definition, a necessity. If anything _'If you want to get something done in this country...'_ at the end of The Dead Parrot Sketch is an _anti punchline,_ for instance. I like lines, I like punch lines and I occasionally like anti punch lines. Which is better? There's only one way to find out! I liked your comment, but only as part of an interesting discussion!

Throw-back to a joke from about fifteen minutes earlier: "I was on the first date with my girlfriend, Jean (Three), and I got the sense that she was always thinking about other guys. Found her in bed with all seven Doctor Whos. She said, yeah, well, technically, it's only one guy."

I just watched the full set (simply titled "Harry Hill - Live") The whole set is highly eclectic, with Hill holding many trains of thought on the backburner while continuously adding more trains and jumping frantically between them with no warning. It's a remarkable feat of absurdist wit and he makes it look easy, albeit rather loopy.
