Join me as I visit the grave of the legendary Harry Houdini at Machpelah Cemetery in Queens, New York. Born Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary, Houdini moved to the United States with his family when he was just a child. He grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, and later settled in New York City, which became the base for his career in magic and escapology. Houdini is buried alongside members of his family, including his beloved mother, Cecilia Steiner Weiss, to whom he was deeply devoted. Harry Houdini is widely regarded as one of the greatest illusionists and escape artists in history. He amazed audiences worldwide with his incredible feats of escapology, such as breaking free from handcuffs, straitjackets, and even submerged water tanks. Houdini also had an interesting career as an actor, an author, and a skeptic who debunked fraudulent spiritualists. His influence on the world of magic remains unmatched, and his ties to New York, where he honed many of his iconic acts, are an important part of his legacy. Visiting his final resting place is a poignant reminder of the man behind the magic-one whose daring feats and larger-than-life persona continue to inspire to this day. Houdini's untimely demise occurred on Halloween, October 31, 1926. After performing a series of shows in Montreal, Canada, the renowned escape artist complained of abdominal pain. Despite seeking medical attention, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Houdini passed away on the evening of Halloween, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest magicians of all time. His death, on such a symbolic date, added an eerie layer to his already mysterious life. 🎥 August 2024 📍 82-30 Cypress Hills St, Flushing, NY 11385 #CemeteryExploration #UrbanExploring #HarryHoudini #HoudiniGrave #MachpelahCemetery #QueensNY #FamousGraves #LegendaryMagician #EscapeArtist #MagicHistory #Legacy #ErikWeisz #NYCGraves #HistoryOfMagic #Illusionist #halloween #NYCHistory #Escapology #GreatHoudini #HoudiniMagic #FamousBurials #MagicianGravesite #HoudiniFinalRestingPlace #MagiciansOfThePast #HoudiniFans #HistoricCemeteries #VisitingGraves #MagicCommunity #HoudiniEscapes #HoudiniInNYC

Hi Beth.. Houdini certainly was a very interesting fellow. I would have loved to see him . Many years ago, I saw a performance by a magician and it was well worth seeing . Some of the illusions had the audience grasp.. Did you ever see a magician? I do enjoy Penn and Tellar... especially when they reveal how illusions are performed but then again... its supposed to be a sacred oath for a magician never to reveal his secrets or the secrets of brother and sister magicians..
