Dr. David Starkey : You are 100 percent correct. Harry has a propensity for placing his finger on the "self-destruct" button and hasn't a clue how to take it off. This is a very old behavior pattern and he has been doing it for decades. A glaring example: On the one hand Harry's premise for leaving the Royal family and his duties was because he claimed the media and paparazzi were "hounding" his family and he valued his "privacy" above all else. But now, because he can not contain his rage over petty minutia from decades ago, he has felt compelled to give voice to all of his life-long grievances in book form and tear everything down. The damage he has done to his family, his country, his friends is irreversible and he is solely responsible for that -- no one else. And, as an aside, so much for Harry's "privacy" concerns. That Harry feels entitled to saddle the public with spewing his unresolved grievances has become old and highly inappropriate. The public has had enough and, frankly, Harry has become somewhat of a bore. Hopefully, over time, Harry and his family will just fade away. And not a moment too soon.

I love Dr. Starkey's documentaries about the Tudors. That part about the Malmsey wine was a reference to George, the Duke of Clarence, allegedly being executed by his brother, King Edward IV, in an unusual manner. He was drowned in a vat of his favorite wine. George was a traitor, but he didn't complain about having a slap- fight with his brother Edward and having his "necklace" being broken. The internet destroyed society. I have said this Many a times. Even as recent as the early 2000s things were fine. Then with fast instant broadband, social media and streaming all went south. Nobody is happy anymore. People are glued to their phones, get up in the middle of the night to check likes, and wait for hours for comment sections on KZbin, Facebook and newsfeeds to open so they are first, on top and thus get most comments and likes. I have been writing on this for my thesis....be it London or Bangladesh, Australia or Nigeria this is everywhere. Nobody is happy and living in the moment. Arts have declined tremendously. I'm in the film line...look at the state of films. Glossy, oversaturated, plastic looking overwrought with political messages. Streaming is like an endless buffet......so much content one is overwhelmed. The internet will be the downfall of society. Not global warming, not terrorism, not political strife.....the internet will doom us. Silicon valley nerds ate the world.
