Very beautiful and elegant finish and what a sportsmanlike gesture of Maroczy. Fantastic game. Much appreciated.

This game is a masterpiece and it takes a great talent to trick such a strong player as Maroczy. I think Pillsbury could have won the champion title if not his poor health condition and early death. Thank you my friend for your efforts, strong health and take care!

Wonderful game to post thanks. Maroczy got led down the proverbial garden path! I wonder how many moves ahead did Pillsbury envision that checkmate, I have to believe at least ten.

It's a shame that Pillsbury isn't as famous in chess history as Morphy and Fischer. I think he was just as talented as they were.
