This man was a banker. He could have stayed a banker, but he chose music. Thank GOD he chose music.

Wow, I've *heard* Harry playing guitar before, but I've never *seen* it. Cool.

I prefer the acoustic version of this song. I suppose it's a matter of opinion, or what you heard first, but there's something so haunting about him and the guitar that just gets me every time. This is my favorite version, despite the show's interruptions.

It's a clip from "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." He's the ghost, unseen by everyone but Mrs. Muir.

@floatingdon When he was young? What do you mean? The man had a great voice throughout his entire career.

If you compare his voice after the long weekend with John Lennon you can hear he damaged his voice this reflects in the album that john assisted upon

Wow. This makes me sad that I never watched The Ghost and Mrs Muir when I was growing up. Harry Nilsson had a gorgeous voice when he was young.

The show was "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". I remember watching this episode and being completely mesmerized by this singer... It wasn't for about another three years that I connected the performance with the artist Harry Nilsson and I have been a fan ever since.

What a fine song "Without Her" is!! I didn't care for his slick, studio version of it, but if you search for "Nilsson on BBC" he does a wonderful acoustic version with the guitar. (Without the interruptions from this sitcom.) A lot of other singers covered it at the time, but his is the best by far!

100% Exactly, the studio version is much too fast and lacks the emotion of the stripped down version of that BBC version.

Thanks very much, and indeed he does survive as long as the music is with us. ;~}
