The guy playing the Beatles manager is great - the way he goes red, takes his hat off then puts it back in quickly in a panic. I laugh every time I see that bit, and his line about the Beatles doing something "mildly pesky" :D

@@GirGir183 No, the guy who played the Beatles manager in AHDN was Norman Rossington who passed to the great beyond in 1999. The actor in this skit is John Henshaw who would have been 13 in 1964 and therefore much to young to play Paul's grand-nephew.

A really funny and clever spoof. For those who are perhaps too young to remember, in 1966 John Lennon caused a furore, by joking that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus. This is obviously a nod to that incident.

Isn't there another old bloke like me here who remembers the controversy when Lennon said the Beatles were 'bigger than Jesus'. It was considered so sacrilegious and cause quite a stir at the time. I am so glad that finally the truth is out. It was all just a big misunderstanding.

That’s right. The America music industry obviously saw the unparalleled impact and most importantly the money the Beatles phenomenon made so naturally they wanted to replicate that with a home grown version, enter the Monkees, and it worked. I’m not knocking the Monkees, they were great, just saying they were a US made version of the Beatles. Even the name of the band itself is Beatles inspired with the incorrect spelling of the word ‘Monkees’. Two great bands. Going off the subject a bit, a father of one of the Monkees invented Tip-Ex
