The first real clue Snape wasn't a bad guy is in the scene where Harry and the "Calvary" show up at Hogwarts and confront him. If you watch closely, Snape only defends himself and then deflects a bolt that disarms the two deatheaters behind him. He never attacks, only defends himself and the narrowly escapes. I knew then that he was on the good side.

Why Draco's mom lied about Harry being dead: When she went over to check if Harry was dead she realized he was alive so she asked him in a whisper "Is he alive? Draco, is he alive?" and Harry slightly nodded his head. Now she knew that Draco was alive so she lied and told Voldemort Harry was dead because if she told him that he was alive then Voldemort would have killed Harry for sure this time and then her son would be in more danger. She gave Harry more time so he could save the day so her child, Draco, could finally be safe. Hope that makes sense lol

JK Rowling told Alan Rickman about Snape's past during the filming of the first movie (before she even wrote the last book) so he could use that in his performance. He was the only one who knew in the cast, and one of the only people in general, and you can see hints of it throughout every movie. But the opening scene here, and the look on his face as he's fighting McGonagall are two of the best scenes I think that show this.Incredible actor

After the battle, Hermione went back to school to complete her studies while Harry and Ron became aurors. Jk said this in an interview. After 19 years, Harry is the head of department of auror office, Ron although became an auror at first, went to help George in his joke shop and Hermione became the minister of magic. Neville became a herbology teacher at Hogwarts :)

The moment that broke me in the book reading it late into the night (because it was new and I felt like I had to finish it) was the back-to-back death reveals. There was a little kid in the books at Hogwarts who was pretty annoying because he basically worshipped Harry and followed him around taking pictures of Harry, then in this final battle we found out one of the Weasley twins died, Lupin and Tonks died, and as Harry's taking this all in he sees his old quidditch coach walk past with that kid over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes bringing him to the row of dead bodies.

But a part of the prophecy states that Voldemort accidentally marks the child in the prophecy as his equal (which he did when he failed to kill Harry as a baby and gave him the scar). I just love the whole background with Snape because it really puts into perspective just why he hated Harry so much. Harry was the very son of the man who bullied him in school and it didn’t help that he looked just like his father James (except for having his mom Lily’s eyes lol) and of course he’s also the son of the only woman he was in love with so he still felt a need to protect despite not liking him. He’s such a complicated and tragic character.

I always loved Snape since day 1. When the 3rd movie came out, I was in highschool and our teacher asked us to do an oral presentation on our favorite HP character. I was the only one that talked about Snape 😂 and when the 6th book came out and Snape killed Dumbledore, I just KNEW it was part of the plan because in my mind, there was NO WAY the most powerful wizard could be begging for his life when he said Please to Snape. Ain’t no way. I was like Dumbledore must be pleading to stick to the plan. Snape is a real one!

The malfoys followed Voldemort out of fear, Draco was a child brought up in an emotionally abusive household, his boggart was his own father (boggart is that thing that shows there biggest fear then they say riddikulus and it turns to something funny) and he was forced to kill dumbledore but in the end snape does. He also introduced himself to Harry because all his life he was told he would meet him and they would become friends but when they met he’d already became friends with Ron, the reason draco bullied him was because he envied there friendship because he didn’t have that, also narccisa (dracos mum) goes check if Harry’s dead and she says “is he alive? Is Draco alive?” And Harry nods, so she tells Voldemort he’s dead because she knows if Harry is killed her,family won’t be able to escape the death eaters and Voldemort so she lies to protect Draco, and after the battle of hogwarts Draco and Hermione (Hermione becomes the new minister of magic) and give a bunch of money to charities for muggle born wizards who can’t afford to buy stuff for hogwarts, further proving he’s good.

When a wizard or a witch is deeply in love, his patronous becomes the same as the one of the person (s)he loves.. And Lily's patronus was a Doe.. That's why Dumbledore asked "After all this time?" when he saw that Snape's patronous was still a Doe.

Well Snape was the one to tell Voldemort about the Prophecy which is why Voldemort went after Lily or Alice (Neville’s mom). But Draco, I think at heart he was a good person but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do a lot of bad things. But at the same time you need to think about the household he grew up in and about how if he defied them in anyway, most old pureblood families won’t hesitate to use the cruccio on their children to make sure they don’t do it again. Draco only joined the Dark Lord because he was forced and only went through with trying to kill Dumbledore because Voldemort would’ve killed his whole family (mainly his mom, who was the only one to show him unconditional love). And Narcissa (dracos mom) lied that Harry was dead because she didn’t care who won or lost, she just wanted her family to be okay; she wanted Draco to be okay. Shows that once again a mother’s love saved Harry because she loved Draco so much that her love for him was more than her fear of the Dark Lord.

Look at that beautiful shot of Severus when he realizes he's about to be killed. He lifts his head slightly, and looks Voldemort right in the eye. Such a brave man! The only thing on his mind at that moment is that he failed dumbledore's plan, and didn't get to tell Harry everything he needed to know. Such an unselfish act. He was the one who died for love, and dear Alan conveyed all this without saying a word. RIP dear Alan and Snape!

Honestly seeing the sad and defeated expression on professor Mcgonagall's face broke me. I was already sad before this but seeing how sad she was tore a whole inside me. These were her students. All of them had great potential. She taught them for years and now seeing them dead on the ground like that probably hurt her just as much as it hurt harry. The thought must have crossed her mind that maybe if she did better and taught them better them maybe some of them would still be alive. Seeing Lupin dead like that someone she knew for years and taught personally, it must have seriously hurt her. She recently lost her friend and mentor(Dumbledor) too. She must have been in so much pain at the moment. The actor captured all of that pain perfectly and seeing a character I knew since childhood have such a sad look. It truly did break me. I cried for several minutes.

Your journey was as good as when I made my brother-in-law watch through all these with me last year. And this one is definitely my favorite too. They're ALL *so good,* but this one reveals the most character development, and carries the most emotional weight. My brother-in-law was SUCH a skeptic going in, thinking they're a bunch of kids' movies that have a cult following. When the credits closed on this one, he sat there as shaken and moved as you guys were. He's a hard-ass Marine who can run miles through the desert in his bare feet, but at that moment he looked at me with haunted eyes and said "Fuck. I never expected them to move me like that. I've never been moved by *any fiction* before like THAT."

Harry's mother died to save him which left a lingering protection in his blood so when Voldemort took his blood in the 4th movie to ressurect his body Harry's mothers protection lived also in Voldemort so while Voldemort was alive harry couldn't die. Harry and Ginnys children are called James Sirius, albus Severus and Lily Luna, Ron and Hermiones children are called Hugo and Rose, Hermione went back to Hogwarts to complete her education then moved to the ministry of magic to set up her own department on house elfs rights. Ron became an auror (dark wizard catcher) then left to join his brother in the family joke shop. Harry also became an auror and Ginny became a famous quidditch player (chaser) until she became pregnant then she wrote quidditch pieces for the daily prophet. Neville became herbolgy Professor at Hogwarts

I liked the book ending better. Harry repaired his wand with the Elder wand and returned the Elder wand to Dumbledore. Saying if he died a natural death, the wands power will be nullified. Narcissa asked if Draco was alive. Snape told Voldemort about the prophecy. Lily stopped being friends with him in their 5th year was because he accidentally called her mudblood and she knew he had plans to be a death eater.
