I think it was made for children but as the children grew up they aged with the darkness of the movie so if you started watching the movie when you were 10 by the time you got to deathly hallows part 2 you would be 20 as the first and last movie we’re 10 years apart

Definitely not for little children. This would be scary and very dark for them… I wouldnt let a kid younger than 7 watch this. And I’m talking about just the first three. From Goblet of Fire on, it’s celarly for teenagers

It's interesting to know that Nicholas Flamel is the only real life person mentioned in the Harry Potter stories. He lived in Paris during the Middle Ages and legend says that he discovered the Sorcerer's Stone due to the fact that he became quite wealthy almost overnight. His house in Paris still exists and has been turned into a restaurant. Because of the success of the books and movies, they now have a Harry Potter menu for kids.

They are hilarious but also have heart. And you can watch them without editing as they are not copyrighted. Just look up very potter musical. Just watch the 8 movies first.

the movies progessively get better (as the actors get older and get more experienced) My favourites are Prisoner of Azkaban (film 3) and Goblet of fire (film 4). Notice how there are different directors through the series. Also worth noting the books contain a lot more detail and story that the films were adapted to, so worth reading them

Not Disney. Universal Studios. The wizarding World is split into 2 parts in 2 parts of the park. One fir Diagon Alley and Platform 9 3/4. The other for Hogwarts and Hogsmeade Village. You can take the Hogwarts Express back and forth between them. Daniel Radcliffe was 11, Rupert Grint was almost 12 and Emma Watson was 10 when they started filming. Ron was right about Hermione's priorities. I think death is worse than being expelled. Lol.

Not to mention, that Ron was more helpful during the Devil's Snare scene. He stayed calm, using his street smarts. Hermione was the one panicking. For a moment, she forgot she is not just a muggle, she didn't know how to light a fire, there were no matches or lighter. It took Ron's "Hermione, you are a WITCH, you can conjure fire!" that she snapped out of her panic.

This was great growing up. I was the same grade/age as the characters for the first two movies and the books sometimes overlapped with my age. It added a lot of immersion being the same age, reading the books and seeing what adventures your three friends got up to this time.

I wouldn`t say that the movies get better. Every movie has its own charm. The thing is that the books start with Harry's life as a wizard at Hogwarts when he was 11, and it was meant for children to grow up with Harry and his friends. I think those kids who had the chance to start reading the books at 11, were the luckiest Muggles alive, and my daughter was one of them :))) I hope your HP journey will be as magical as it was for me and all those that I know❤

It's always fun to see these films through fresh eyes. 😃You both have made some good insights already! I was 33 and working at a client site when I picked up the first book in 2000. On the plane home my co-worker asked me why I was reading a children's book. I said I was curious about all of the hub-bub around the upcoming films. I then told him that from the first chapter I was very delighted by the clever way the author uses ordinary words as the root for so many aspects of the magical world. Each book/film continues to expand on the world, it's mind-boggling!

These are wonderful movies! I’ve watched them hundreds of times so far! Watching with first time reactors is so much fun! New eyes! The person who got me interested in watching them was my dear late friend Abbie who volunteered with kids at her old elementary school because she loved children. The kids were all excited about Harry Potter and Abbie read the books too because she wanted to know what the kids were excited about! She was an interesting and inspiring human being. She had been a teacher at the school until she was forced out in 1980 before disability workplace protections. She had friedrichs ataxia and couldn’t have children of her own (it’s hereditary). She was so upset on getting sacked that the stress caused her to need a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

I think some people recognized Harry because of the scar on his forehead, but if it was covered by his hair, they wouldn't have known it was him. Other people might have recognized him with or without the scar, if they'd known his parents; he's supposed to look exactly like his father, even the shape of his glasses. Except for his eyes, those are just like his mother's eyes.

Let’s goooooo! Can’t wait to see your journey with this series…it’s so good and a special part of me. I didn’t discover it until I was already an adult since the books/movies came out later for me (I was probably about 20/21 at the time of the first one). I love watching reactions to this series because it makes me happy to see others enjoy it as much as I do, and makes me nostalgic wishing I could see it again for the first time as well.
