I’m reading the fourth book right now for the first time and I gotta say; I cannot wait for the HBO series.. Each season will course over each book, which means we won’t get The Goblet of Fire adaptation until well after 2030 but I’m still hyped !!

22:20 the curse didn’t actually effect Neville. Neville’s parents were tortured by that curse so he’s got PTSD from hearing the curse being used. The sounds the creature was making was making Neville think of his parents screaming. 31:15 yet she is an owl for Ron.
@lucaslindgren2258Ай бұрын
Did you actually get that in this movie/book i know it gets explained in the oothp but in this?
@thelastofnicoleАй бұрын
@lucaslindgren2258 During the trial flashback Karkaroff says that Barty Crouch Jr. was involved with the torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom by the means of the Cruciatus Curse. It's a quick line that many people don't connect to being Neville's parents.
@marshallpeters7174Ай бұрын
@@lucaslindgren2258 In the book, there were more trial scenes in the flashback. Dumbledore also explained the scenes to Harry afterward. Harry asked about the Longbottoms, and Dumbledore informed him they had been tortured into insanity, that Neville visited them every Christmas, and they didn't recognize him.
@ChlovanАй бұрын
In the books it's explained that Neville's parents were tortured to insanity. That spell that Moody was using on the spider was the same exact curse so that's why it traumatized Neville so badly.

Priori Incantatem is a phenomenon where a wizard's wand is connected to each other. Harry's wand has ties to Voldemort's wand. and if the wands that have bonds fight each other then a protective dome will be created between them and the losing wand will vomit the previous spell (Voldemort's wand loses so he has to cast the previous spell and Voldemort vomits the Avada Kedavra spell so that all the spirits he has killed come out)

I apologize for the length of this message, but there’s a lot of non-spoiler content and background information I’d like to share. Firstly, I’m sorry I missed the premiere. It’s interesting to note that two years before this movie, they released Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup for the PS2, which later inspired the PS5 game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Gary Oldman is always a highlight, even though he might not have been as involved in this particular film. When White Gold mentions Dumbledore’s calm question to Harry about the Goblet of Fire, I personally like to imagine that it’s Richard Harris’ Dumbledore speaking, rather than Michael Gambon’s. Richard Harris’ portrayal felt much calmer and more understanding with Harry, whereas Gambon’s Dumbledore was often more direct and confrontational. That’s just my perspective, of course. Richard Harris’ Dumbledore, as seen in the first two films, had a serene and patient demeanor, while Michael Gambon’s portrayal, starting with The Prisoner of Azkaban, was more intense and sometimes abrasive. For example, in The Prisoner of Azkaban, after Dumbledore saves Harry, he reacts with visible anger and sends the Dementors away. Additionally, in the same movie, Gambon’s Dumbledore is seen rushing students along, such as in the scene where he tells them to clear the way during the Fat Lady incident. While Gambon does show some calmer moments, his portrayal certainly leaned more toward urgency and authority. This is also the one year when Harry didn’t actively seek trouble. When Ron suggests entering the Triwizard Tournament, Harry’s response, “Rather you than me,” shows that he had no interest in the tournament. Unfortunately, Harry ends up being dragged into it, illustrating how trouble often finds him instead of the other way around. There was also a small editing mistake during the Black Lake scene where Hermione is seen with a white towel, and then in the next frame, it’s missing. It’s just one of those funny little moments! On a lighter note, regarding Cedric Diggory's death, it’s amusing to think that in a deleted scene, the band continued playing, which made the somber moment a bit comical. It was almost as if they were saying, “We stop for no one, we practiced hard for this!” And that’s how Cedric became Edward Cullen, right? (Just a bit of humor there!) Lastly, looking at Harry’s relationship with Hogwarts up until this point: First movie: The school was astonished, amazed, and supportive of him. Second movie: They initially hated him, believing he was the Heir of Slytherin, but by the end, they supported him. Third movie: Most of the school supported him, aside from Draco and his group. Fourth movie: They initially resented him, accusing him of trying to steal Cedric’s moment, but once again, they supported him in the end. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I hope it wasn’t too lengthy!

That was very unDumbledore like when he ran up on Harry and yelled at him "did you put you're name in the goblet?" Yes it's said calmly in the book, which is how Dumbledore is in nature very calm and collected, even carefree and whimsical.

This book/movie is considered the turning point in the series because of Cedrick’s death, and yes it does get darker after this. Also in the scene where Harry goes into Dumbledore’s memory, the bit you missed when Igor was revealing death eaters he says snape is a death eater, Dumbledore claims snape was a death eater but turned spy for them. Also one very small piece of dialogue that people forget is dumbledore says, “there is no spell that can bring people back from the dead, I trust you know that, Harry”. This is a true statement and may help you understand things later in the movies. I’m enjoying this journey! Also please watch the 20 year reunion after you finish Deathly Hallows. It’s so good, you get to hear so much behind the scenes from cast, crew and directors from all the movies.

*I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.* *Trivia:* *They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.* *The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.* *As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"* *Backstory:* *Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.*

It's so stupid how movie Dumbledore drops "Priori Incantatem" and never explains it like in the book Basically, Harry's and Voldy's wands have the same core. This is mentioned in movie 1.This gives Harry a deus ex machina to escape because, as JKR explains it, when wands that share a core fight it causes a "bug" that forces them to cast spells backwards. The reason the ghosts of Cedric, Harry's parents and the old caretaker appear is because those kills were the last 4 spells that Voldemort's wand had used.

Harry was 11 years old when he first went to Hogwarts. That is not High school age. That would be more like 5th grade for us. So he's likely about 7th grade US time In the UK they have 2 levels of school, Primary is year 1-6 . They start at age 5. Secondary school is years 7-11 . What we call our senior year is the year in which they go to college or technical schools to start learning their chosen career path. At least that's the way I understand it from several books I've read.

Durmstrang and Beauxbatons are not single sex schools; I don't know why the movie tried to make it look like they were. Beauxbatons is the French school, Durmstrang seems to be a general central and Eastern European school (German name, Russian headmaster, and at least one Bulgarian student). The book refers to boys from Beauxbatons for sure (Parvati storms off to dance with one of them, and that one gets one of the others to be Padma's date after the whole thing falls apart). There was a briefer mention of one girl at Durmstrang, which is enough to establish that it's not a boys' school. This was an absolutely mystifying decision by the movies. It didn't even make a difference to the plot, so why not be faithful? Grrr. This is a doorstopper of a book, so a lot got skipped, including whole plotlines. All that said, there's a lot I like here.

Don't know if WG made it to the 7th Book Midnight Release, it was cool as crap, I was a Potter Hater when it first came out(I was one one of them Harry Pooter survived a toilet birth) but once I saw the movies and read the books(sure WG agrees, left too much of the books out), think Fireworks will like Part 5 and the introduction of my favorite character Luna Lovegood(she just rules), as I was saying, midnight release for the final book was Insane, different places decorated like Hogsmead or Hogwarts or the Weasleys home, yes all this for a book, but that was a great experience, I went from a Hater to a person who loves the Harry Potter World. Hope Fireworks enjoys the rest of the films.

First, not sure about 14 years old. It could be she was 15. Hermione is born in September so I'm not clear if she started school when she was getting 11 in September or 12. But people who are obsessed with these ages say more about themselves in this. I know colleagues of mine from highschool that have successful marriages with a gap like 14 to 17. And they started dating in highschool. So I really don't understand these comments that always appear in HP reactions.
