Hermione was given the time turner so that she could take extra classes. She's so smart, and the professors know it, so they're helping her stuff as much knowledge into her brain as possible, because she can handle it.

Yes, but the teachers didn't see that Hermione was more and more tired, that she was missing classes and that she was putting her health in danger. Going back in time every day has repercussions, especially since she has been doing this since beginning of the year. the teachers and especially Mcgo saw nothing.

Regards phones & electronics: I saw a cool comment on potter theory yt channel that there aren't electronics in wizarding world bc JKR explained the magic shortcircuits it, which is why no phones & why dobby doesnt wash malfoy clothes in a washing machine, uses old fashioned water & scrubs clean (but with elf magic). Personally I've not read the books since they came out, so I'm unaware if this is booksource/from JR after the fact. Anyone know if its book or pottermore lore? As someone who grew up in it, with jk picking & choosing fan fic theories, I tend not to believe half what jk says after the fact tho 😂

@@eudite1762 yes I grew up with it & my class always found her reaction to fan theories kinda rude/disapproving, we'd see she was so polite answering qus, but not theories, unless it was the odd one over the yrs that suited her to take credit for when she never wrote it that way. The Rons imaginary friend Harry one bogus cos then hermione wouldn't have had kids with someone who has an imaginary friends into his 30s & it brings into question his brave key component to his character if he had to invent Harry. Just adds more plot holes. Potter theory channel very interesting connects it better than she does & points holes out like how did a bathroom appear with the COS entrance built into the sink? Unless the plumber was also an heir of slytherin? 😁

The dementors are supposed to represent depression. The same way the dementors froze and took the life out of the plants and anything around it, it does the same to people and literally suck their soul. That’s why nobody can fight back unless they use the Patronum Spell, requiring one to think about the happiest, powerful memory.

A true patronus takes the form of a sort of 'spirit' animal, they're usually unique to everyone. James, Harrys dad, could turn into a stag the same way Sirius could turn into a dog. Thats why Harry's Patronus is a stag. In the book, the Stag ran across the lake and chased the dementors off but they went a different way in the film. The 4 makers of the map were Moony (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter), Padoot (Sirius) and Prongs (James). Thats why Lupin knew what it was when he saw it, he helped make it.

Stag being 💪 but also headstrong fighters ie spoilers what Harry's dad was like before, how Harry is also headstrong ie hes convinced in hp1 Snape is bad when he saving him. A doe being more subtle. I wish she wasn't so harsh on Ron & gave him the brave 🦁 patronus he deserves. Which do you prefer the book scene or the movie? It was so fun to read the stag across the lake & gives purpose for the patronuses being there rather than have them hanging about, but.. the music & special effects in the movie was 🤌 10/10

About the deer: This is the worst part of this film.(I love it don't get me wrong) So basically: There are two types of patronus charmes. The lighter version that is just this beam of light and the fully fleshed out version that takes the form of an animal that fits your personality. They explain in the books that his fathers patronus was a deer. Thats why he was so sure that he saw his father. Well it turns out his patronus is also a deer

Just like McGonagall got Harry a Broomstick because he needed one for Quidditch in the first movie, she acquired a Time Turner for Hermione so she could take more subjects. McGonagall had to probably go through pages of legislation to get that as Time Turners are a limited item and Hermione had to prove that she could be trusted to use it for what it was given for so not cheating at all.

Hermione gave the time turner back to professor McGonagall at the end of that year. In the book, she is definitely overloaded on homeworks and classes during that year. And on top of all the classes she took, there was sub plot with Ron who thought Crookshank, Hermione's cat, killed his rat, or her helping out Hagrid build a case to try to save Buckbeak's court case. All of that combined really made Hermione super stressed out and irritable. So she decided to have a normal schedule again.

12:18 Well, to be fair, the time these books/movies are based on didn't have mobile phones at least... In the book there's a scene Ron called to Harry (aka the phone was Harry's aunt and uncle's... And it was uncle Vernon that had answered the phone... Let's say that it didn't go well. 😂 Ron hadn't ever used a phone and he was yelling into Vernon's ear). 26:25 Harry, as well Hermione and Ron and those in their class are all supposed to be 13 years old now, as they're on their 3rd year in Hogwarts

as a huge HP fan and this movie is def my favorite in the series, seeing you guys watch it made me happy but then i actually saw your reaction and i felt like i was with a high dude and , a high dude and a tired dude. it was incredibly stressfull to watch and seems like u guys dont want to watch this show at all. so i suggest staying away from the HP series.. or at least not watching it while tired or high, ( only reason i say high is cause most people these days just smoke weed and do drugs ) so getting a genuine reaction is hard. stay safe men

My favorites will always be #1 and #3 (this one). I love the scene in the shrieking shack. If you haven’t watched LOTR, that’s next, and the Hobbit. You’ll get major subs for all these series, plus, breaking bad, back to the future, Star Wars IV, V, VI (4,5,6.)

I always feel the need to drop this comment when I see the reaction: the term "bitch" is used by dog breeders (Marge is a dog breeder) for a female dog that is going to/has had puppies, and the term "stud" is used for a male dog who is going to sire puppies. So, while the language is jarring when Aunt Marge says "if there's something wrong with the bitch, then there's something wrong with the pup", she isn't actually calling Harry's mother any type of curse word, she's being incredibly, grossly, rude to compare his mother to a dog, but she's not cussing her out. If you compare Marge talking about Harry's dad instead of his mum using breeder terms: "If there's something wrong with the STUD, then there's something wrong with the pup," that would still be accurate, but it's far less insulting terminology. She still sucks mind you, I only comment this because people sometimes wild out when they think that they allowed that kind of language in a HP film.

Too much people underestimate Ron but in the first movie it's because of him that Harry managed to pass the last test "chessboard", in the second one he was always with Harry even when they had to go to the forest to fallow the spider which are his phobia. He will do more in the other movies too. ( Harry could not do everything by himself he need his friends & Ron is his bestfriend just like Hermione). If you watch the last scene in the second movie you will see that something is different between Hermione & Ron relationship than the one she have with Harry . (People who really know romance & not try to push their "ship" into one will see which one is the real Hermione Crush (in this movie it was pretty obvious too) + way more interesting this way than putting the only girl of the groupe with the "Hero" . + Never saw Romance between them but ship who you want to ship. but again don't judge Ron too quickly (put yourself in his shoes & don't forget they are all young & different with different personnality & that's why we love them).

This is where the movies lose a lot from the books. There is some background about the Maurauder's Map and those who made it, etc. Also, the book explains Hermione wanted the time turner in order to take a heavier case load than the other students/attend more than one class at the same time. Yeah. She's "bookish"... ALso, once you finish the series, you'll be able to look back at the second one and be like "OMG!!!" Every movie has something that is important later in the end of the serires.I may not like J K Rowling as a human, but she knew how to tell an epic story.

The books came first which the demographic were kids from 11 to who ever enjoyed a good fantasy book. The films were made in the same manner for the demographic. I love the films and I'm a 59 year old grandmother who watched these movies with her grandchildren.

One of the most unnecessary changes they made from the books which I don't like is that in the books, all three disarm Snape, not just Harry. And instead, Hermione exclaims, "WE attacked a teacher!" All three were so eager for an explanation that they all shot off a spell reactively and their spells combined to knock Snape out, not just disarm (so no violence intended). Harry is always at the heart of the drama and is kind of the ringleader but I thought that was a great moment to show that they've all got a streak of troublemaker, an obsession with solving mysteries, and a drive for truth and justice. It's not Harry dragging the other two unwillingly into every fight. They're a team, doing what's right, and occasionally going too far and straying out of control.
