Van Der Vaart would be an incredible podcast. A lot of stories to tell about his beef with Zlatan, his time at madrid, his love for Spurs and the fact he's incredibly fond of a pint!

Can’t remember the year but there was a time (maybe a couple of times) when Utd were linked with Defoe… think he’d have scored a tonne of goals for us. Always loved the way he took his shots so early, with very little back lift, didn’t allow the keeper to get set with their feet and inevitably bagged goal after goal. Also a big shout out for the time he took with the young Sunderland fan who unfortunately passed away… a proper player and top bloke 🙌

I’ve been supporting Spurs since 1970 and JD will always be one of my favourite ever strikers, I’ve wished him well at every club he’s played with, a legend on and off the pitch. As an Irish man I was baffled that Walcott went to the 2006 WC ahead of JD, absolutely disgraceful….. What a fantastic episode lads, well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I'm a Liverpool fan and you don't get to play for us if you are average crouchy put's himself down to much he was a great player we loved him and 99% of Liverpool fans were dying for him to score when he went his first 14-15 he games without scoring all through that time he never hid and made a huge difference to the team in other ways he had skill a football brain and not only that he brought humour to anfield I loved him and was gutted when he left great player great bloke it was a pleasure to watch him

Great pod! As an Arsenal fan I hate basically all Spurs players except these two and Ledley King. This ep was really enjoyable, Defoe has an elite mindset but also seems like a fun guy.
@corfie2 жыл бұрын
I think when it comes to GK coaches, surely having a great Striker like a Defoe coaching them would help the GK think 'I know what that Striker will do now' because as a Striker they could teach the GK's what is going on in their heads at that time.

Love your podcast Crouchy! Been a Spurs fan since 2001, watched you and J and man what a ride! I live in Seattle and that's why I started supporting Spurs because of Kasey Keller (my buddy should have gone over but had a kid instead 😄). Anyway, I am a Seattle season ticket holder and exactly like J is saying, it's fun, it's football, but it doesn't mean anything over here with only an MLS Cup playoffs. Playoffs are lame (IMO) but whatever. I actually rooted for J at that game because he's one of my favorite players, but I get what he's saying. WE ARE LOUD!!!! 😆Cheers!!!

On another note, I’ll never forget going to the bridge for a game against West Ham and seeing that Glenn Roder had made the mistake of not starting Defoe…..kept warning my cousin about how good he was and he scored within 10 minutes of coming on at the end of the game….biggest testament I can give him as a rival supporter!…always a threat from the first minute of his career to the last 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That 5 goal notch against Wigan….the fifth goal crouchy said he should have squared for him?!…not in a million years mate!😂…..JD had just the keeper to beat and PC had 2 defenders around him?!🤷🏻♂️😂….instinctive play from an instinctive player on all the goals…..sorry crouchy, at least you got the first!😂……from a Chelsea supporter 💙

2.7% of managers in PL have been GK??? Considering the specialisation of the role, that's pretty decent. Consider a squad of x30 players has X3 Goalkeepers, that would mean 10% of squad is GK and 90% is outfield.
