this is very incorrect, all the band members had a part in 1D's success. Harry did have a huge part, but Zayn was the high notes, liam was a lead singer, niall had an amazing voice, and louis brought the most exciting content in the band.

@@kryo4491 mostly bc i don't like talking ab what happened to him. also bc his mic was cut off due to management thinking he was a "bad singer" which is very wrong. my whole point is, niall had one of the best vocals out of the whole band, yet he was always either last to sing, or got less time on a track. either way it's wrong what they did to him, and what they all went through. I don't even remember making this comment, but i didn't mean to offend any Lovers, i know i could've been more specific and provide a better explanation on what he brought to the table but my brain was most likely fogged considering how upset i was. i'm a huge harrie, i'm in the harrie lane, but i'm also tired of hearing "harry's the best member," or "harry did more," or "i only listened because of harry," when each individual in the band brought their own material to build the band. Each of them brought talent and took their time to create a master piece. Niall wrote a whole song for the band, all on his own and got 30 seconds of a verse, tell me how that's the slightest bit fair?

Actually when they auditioned at X Factor the boys were 5 guys who didn't know each others and other people didn't know them. Yes, Harry was quite charming even when he was 16/17 but directioners don't buy music to listen to his face right? I personally think that Harry committed himself during the "18 months" hiatus and became famous making music people would enjoy, but let's face that: One Direction couldn't be One direction without Harry Louis Niall Liam or Zayn (it's not a specifical order). In my opinion, and also in a good directioner's one, they were and still are all equally important for the band.

I love Harry and agree that he has a charm and charisma that draws you in. He is so likeable that you can't help but root for him. He is born to entertain, there is no denying that. He has the voice and the looks of a rock star. But, his first audition song wasn't his best and in the end he wouldn't be where he is without the others, and visa versa. He has acknowledged the same thing. I don't think it's fair to pit these boys against one another. Perhaps leave that out and just talk Harry and his adorable interactions with the fans. But, I do have to say that Harry has gone on to be a mega star and there is no stopping that man. He continues to gain fans of all ages, like me, who didn't follow 1D, but became a huge Harry Styles fan recently. I am old enough to be his mom but he brings a certain nostalgia in his music that I grew up with and I didn't know how much I missed it until I heard Harry's music. His banter is fun and light-hearted. Music binds the soul regardless of age. And any success he's had since the band took a break should be to his credit alone. I think he will continue to break records and will go down in history as one of the greats like his idols. And he rightfully should. My prayer is that he doesn't fall in to the same traps that so many in the entertainment industry do. Harry may never read this but I pray daily for him and his safety and hope he stays grounded. I’m old enough to be his grandmother and I too became a fan after not following 1D. I agree it’s ridiculous to pit the band members and fans. All of the members had a fan base. Also, I think Louis gets over looked as his voice was absolutely essential to their sound / their group harmonies.

Also, Niall has broken the curse of the boyband and so has Louis, though I understand he’s having trouble getting his music played on the radio (from what others have said). I think Faith in The Future rivalled Harry’s House for one of the best albums in a decade.

@@IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS I agree Louis has put out some amazing music, without the radio play and advertising it has been hard for him but his fans paid for some advertising they went to radio stations and plugged his records they went around the streets playing his music to people and saying buy his albums. He has a fanbase that any artist would pray for. The boys are always joined by a silver cord and when people say one is better than the other they are hurting the boys and the true fans.

Sooo wrong ! Louis and Liam wrote most of the songs in 1D. They were all important to the band ! Louis 2 albums are really damn good and he has huge fan base! A nd so do niall, zane and Liam! imo 1D wouldn't have even gone far in the x-factor if it weren't for Liam taking the lead vocally on a lot of the songs because the other boys' voices weren't fully trained/developed at that point (esp Harry and Zayne). so without Liam, they might have fallen apart before the end of the x factor. Harry had horrific stage fright in the beginning. he overcame it but only because he was in a group. totally disagree with the premise of this video.

Harry was obviously a big part of 1D but all of the boys have their own unique way to draw you in and make people comfortable! And i don't think it's fair to put the boys against one another . I would also like to say that Louis has his own style that honestly many peopel turly love including me. Niall aswell his style feels safe and i do agree that harry's style in music and clothing is more "modern" per-say all the boys and special for eachother and zayn's and liams music has changed aswell icluding them all wich is something louis explained might be hard for them to start making music together again!

I completely disagree, this video is absurd. Of course, Harry had gotten a lot of attention, he is without a doubt one of the most loved band members but that definitely does not mean that he was the only reason for One Directions success. True fans, would know that all the boys have extreme talent when it comes to singing and yes, Harry was definitely one of the more stronger singers but that does not mean he was, “Better than the rest of the band” or, “kept it going.” Not every single One Direction fan claims that Harry is their favorite. Personally, mine is Louis and I have an amazing reason for that. A lot of people I know adore Zayn for how strong he was throughout the years and just as much as how funny and talented he is. Let’s get back onto Harry though. It’s a freaking boy band, no one person led the band. And speaking like Harry is the only one who was keeping them together is very very false. Niall loves the band more than anything, and Louis didn’t want to leave. Liam also loves to talk about a reunion. Even though Zayn hasn’t talked about it, he recently has interacted with Liam and in the past with Niall as well. They all played very important parts, and Harry was sure as heck not the only reason that they became arguably the biggest boy band in the world.
