Try the Hot War series. It’s three books about the Korean War escalating into WW3 with nukes. I’m on the second book right now.

A good idea would be if Napoleon had won the battle of Waterloo and cemented power.

The only way Napoleon wins Waterloo is by not fighting it. If u want a world where Napoleon remains in power in France, what you need is maybe a victory at Trafalgar and Egypt.

I have heard that Mr. Turtledove does not want his novels to be translated into foreign languages. Is this true or just a rumor? Does anybody know?

Just a question. With the Union defeated and in turmoil, what happens to the Mexican Empire? I see it thus: Napoleon III does not pull his troops and trades CSA recoognition for territory from the CSA. Western expansion contiues with the CSA and Union fighting over new territory and Mexico and France take advantage of this. With a few reforms (giving land to the peasants) the Mexican Empire becomes a formidable force, and develops economically WITHOUT US aid How likely will it be?
