Today I went on the search for some local delicacies and I was not disappointed, I had fried Calamari cooked fresh infront of me and then another friend banana dish that was the best street food i've ever eaten!

This is a classic in the Philippines. You ask them a question and they answer something that has absolutely nothing to do with what you ask. How "long will it take to cook?". Answer: 7 hours

Best vlogger is ItchyBoots channel.... it's organized, informative, educational and her editing skills are superb... she started in India on trip around the World.. currently on Series 6: Project Alaska....it's a wonderful channel... each continent is a serie....♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸

@sitandchill2897
@sitandchill2897 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Harry! We have 10 million or so Muslims here. You can use Assalamu alaikum with them too (I'm Muslim Filipino). In general, call guys "pare" (par-ray), it's our way of saying "mate"/ "buddy", or "kuya" (koo-yah) which means "bro". Ladies are "ate" (ah-tay) for "sis", "Ma'am", or "gwapa"/"maganda" (beautiful) for banter. All older men and women are addressed like parents= we'd say "Tay" (=pronounced 'tie') for "Dad" for any male stranger our dad's age, and "Nay" (=pronounced 'nigh') for "Mum" for any female stranger our mum's age. Or you could call everyone "Sir" and "Ma'am" and use "po" after asking things (it's a gender neutral honorific, like "Kap/Ka" in Thai). "Kumusta Po?"/"how are you po?", (How are you sir/Ma'am?), "Salamat po"/thank you po" (thank you sir/Ma'am). Honorifics and Po are very useful words for connecting with people here :) Being Southeast Asians we always use honorifics and family terms with each other. You're doing really well. Say "sayo ang sukli (sah-yo ang sook-lee) for "keep the change" the vendors would really appreciate it :) Good idea for another big contrast: head to Okada, it's a huge lush casino in the Bay city part of Metro Manila, near MOA. It has the world's second largest dancing fountain, free shows from 6-10pm. Free drinks on the casino itself too. I don't gamble, I just went to see the dancing fountain, but it was probably the most luxurious place I've ever been, and I've been in Harrods lol

You guys should visit Baguio City sometimes. Alot of the vegetables and fruits mostly come from Baguio. I'm not saying everything is cheap but the quality is much better. If you like hiking, Sagada has one best views to hike. Motorcycle enthusiasts go through this route to in from Tagaytay and Subic Bay. If you can rent or lease a fun bike like Suzuki Gxr or Kawasaki Ninja this would be ideal. Sagada route is very challenging one not the best time to though during typhoon season. Feb- March is usually the dry season which is perfect time to go.

We have plenty of banana trees in the Philippines that’s why we managed to create a ton of different snacks from it ☺️ We usually have these snacks during “merienda” which means afternoon snack a few hours before dinner. These are light and cheap snacks we can find in most streets around Metro Manila, sometimes our neighbors sell them too :)

I really laughed hard when you bought the wallet.. esp when you learned that its cheap. I envy you going to divisoria… i really miss going there but it’s still pandemic and crowded place still makes me scared. Btw if you already went to Quiapo and divisoria, you might as well go to Baclaran- another place where you can buy different items. Just like Quiapo, it has a Church near it. Baclaran is also near to Mall of Asia so you can go there after going to Baclaran.😊 Have fun!

From the way you ask the locals about the foods and the translations of the words, I can say that you would definitely learn how to speak tagalog in just one year. Tagalog is easier to learn than the other languages because most of our words are the same with spanish words. How I wish I was with you there to explain about our street foods. 💖

@@paulnicolaparua300 tagalog is different from filipino. filipino language has a mixed of spanish, english etc while tagalog doesn't have that. for example the "DANGER" in filipino it is "delikado" while in tagalog it is "panganib". another one is "SCIENCE" in filipino it is "siyensiya" in tagalog it is "Agham" learning tagalog is difficult due to conjugations and grammar.

The variety of bananas in your video is endemic only to the Philippines. They're called SABA bananas. Thicker and starchier than the common Cavendish. We also use sweetened SABA with shaved ice and milk called SABA CON HIELO or saba with crushed ice and milk.

Wikipedia entry SABA banana. Saba banana (pron. sah-BAH or sahb-AH), is a triploid hybrid (ABB) banana cultivar originating from the Philippines. It is primarily a cooking banana, though it can also be eaten raw. It is one of the most important banana varieties in Philippine cuisine. It is also sometimes known as the "cardaba banana", though the latter name is more correctly applied to the cardava, a very similar cultivar also classified within the saba subgroup

When you asked the Chinese old man whats the best thing in the Phils, he didnt fully understand it. He thought, whats the unique food in the Philippines, so he answered, "Balut". The best thing in the Philippines is the people. Very approachable. Their friendliness is the best. Beaches are only 2ndary.
