Grindelwald had an Atlas of Celestial Anomalies in his living room. It looks like Astrology, at least in the form that Centaurs practice, is the most reliable method of Divination.

I hope you know just how much these videos are appreciated. Personally, I consider them the equivalent of a class taught at Hogwarts that we get the privilege of being apart of through a virtual means of learning. Videos concerning history, such as this one, are especially fascinating and I believe you’d be well suited to the role of History of Magic teacher as a replacement for poor old Professor Binns.

5:20 Trelawney spends so much time locked away by herself I think it's very possible she's made more predictions than the two we know about but because she can't remember them no one knows. Her tarot reading the night Dumbledore died was also spot on but she refused to believe what she was getting.

Astrology is counted wrong, the Sun passes through thirteen constellations not just the 12 of the Zodiac. The Sun spends the most time in Virgo and barely a week in Scorpius. It spends equal time in its neighbor Ophiuchus, but that one is not counted.

That may be true today, but that is only because of precession of the Earth's axis. In Babylonian times the Sun did pass through 12 constellations and that's where we got the Western Zodiac.

Is divination the same as prophesizing or reading the stars/ planets/predicting? I think a seer is able to make prophecies that come to them unexpectedly in the form of involuntary visions (Trelawney) and one who is able to "read" into the future is what i would think to be making predictions/divinations (The Centaurs) 🤔 I don't think Trelawney was the right fit for teachibg divination, but Ferense was, because in HP lore, Centaurs read the "skies" (planets, stars, celestial events to be able to 'predict' future events (they don't have involuntary visions, they have the ability to read the celestial maps) But I'm not an expert in these topics, my perception might be completely wrong.

A part of me that finds this funny thinks Professor Trelawney is legit. She predicted Hermione leaving. She predicted Harry’s death. Then predicted Harry would not die 😅. All true

Even though many people considered Sybil trelawney to be a fraud but she has for told 2 predictions : the first speaking of a boy born at the end of July and born to parents who had defied Lord Voldemort 3 times ( which the prophecy spoke of 2 wizard boys boys born at the end of July one being Harry Potter and the other being Neville longbottom ) The second prediction speaking of the return of Lord Voldemort The 1st prediction / prophecy : " the one with the power to vanquish the dark Lord approaches born to those who have thrice defied him born as the seventh month dies ... And the dark Lord will mark him as his equal but he will have power the dark Lord knows not ... And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives ... The one with the power to vanquish the dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies ... " And The second prediction : The book version of the second prediction : " it will happen tonight the dark Lord lies alone and friendless abandoned by his followers his servant has been chained these 12 years tonight before midnight the servant will break the Free and set out to rejoin his master the dark lord will rise again with his servant's aid greater and more terrible than he ever was tonight ... Before midnight ... The servant ... Will set out. ... To rejoin his master ... The movie version of second prediction : ". Tonight he who betrayed his friends whose heart rots with murder ... Shall break free innocent blood shall be split ... And servant and master shall be reunited once more .... ! "

It could be argued that the night Dumbledore died her tarot reading was spot on with her just not understanding or not willing to believe the results.
