I suspect a lot of HP magic has to do with magnetic fields. I have an elderly friend who, all her life, has been able to blow the lights in a room, sets off all the metal detectors every time she travels despite the fact that she has nothing in or on her person which would normally do so and can actually see the sap rising in trees. In HP terms she may even be classed as magical.

Does she find coins a lot ? I have found many gold and silver coins . And have been held at airport security for several minutes because they could see I had no metal on me but the selector keeps going off.
