I wish he'd get back to doing authentic jazz instead of trying to be Ryan Seacrest. He's a good actor so that is worth his time, but it seems like he's being managed by people who know how to chase fame and brand, Kardashian makers and he makes me sad when I see him doing that desperate talk show. I don't know if he's still doing that? But I agree Harry Connick Jr. is the real thing. He's the heir to Chet Baker without the afflictions thankfully, but he's no less intriguing. I mean he's as good looking as Paul Newman and musically gifted like Joe Williams and Bill Evans combined. I wish he'd leave the TMZ circuit and just be himself a true artist. That's where his fortune lies. He doesn't need the kind of management that builds a jack of all trades career like a Tony Danza type. Steadily employed from the early 60s on. I worked on several musical variety TV shows back then including Dean Martin, Andy Williams and Carol Burnett. I was born in Chicago but my folks moved to Los Angeles when I was just a year old so my Dad could pursue his singing career (he was a legendary studio singer with a glorious baritone voice and I was so proud of him). So I grew up in LA and I know I told you I had a very busy studio singing career of my own, backing up you-name-them ( lol except for you!) I’m retired now and my daughter wanted me to move closer to her in Austin, TX so I’m 10 minutes away in a lovely senior apartment community in Cedar Park.
