My wife and I started photographing weddings when we started going together in 1973. My little doll just turned seventy. Now that we are fully retired, we have more time to cuddle. A marriage is like an investment: the longer it is held, the more compound interest it accrues. : )

I really love how this sweet, upbeat music is playing in the background and Sona is just destroying the wedding industry.

Sona is extremely realistic and down to earth about the whole wedding thing and so she is telling it like it is. Finally, honesty! I liked my wedding dress, but I didn't cry and no one ever cried when they saw me in it. Thank God, I would have thought they were crazy. When I see people tearing up on TV, I feel like I could throw up. You go girl! Congratulations! Tak seems like a great catch.

Wedding planning was the literal worst. Everything Sona said is EXACTLY how I feel about the wedding industry - it's all a rip off!!! I was sooo relieved once my wedding was over. 😂 Happy to be married but the planning sucked.

I stood-up in my brother's wedding in the mid-'80s, and he had us in Pierre Cardin tuxes. At that time mine cost me $50-and-change. It was a great tux, in shades of black and charcoal.

Loved Sona's description of the bridal/wedding industry as a racket. As I like to say, "They get you at birth, marriage, and death," that is, at each of those stages of existence, expect to be financially reamed by vendors/merchants/other service providers. Seriously, especially for you younger folks out there. Get ready for the shucksters when you get married, when you have kids, and when a loved one dies. Try to plan ahead a little if possible. Don't buy too much into the marketing hype when you're emotionally compromised. Nota bene - with a little caution, the first two "stages" would be optional/discretionary lifestyle choices, of course.

We got married in another country and that was even harder as either my wife would be the one flying over there or we both fly over there just for planning and paying. I give so much credit to my wife.
@alexeimscruz28934 жыл бұрын
that "what's the fuzz, I don't care, what's the big deal" unassuming attitude in Sona is what, I think, most men look for in a woman to marry... they just want to get married to the man they love, period... I'd want one for myself... the only trouble is some women believe in weddings where they want to be the princess in a Disney movie, the queen for a day kind of thing, with a fairy tale to tell their friends, not even thinking what about the guy, what about him and stuff?

hmm Talin huh?.. yeah Talin is definitely very popular western Armenian name Talineh..I think Sona even mentioned in the Armenia video that her family was from Sebastia or Sivas when they visited the Genocide memorial ..like Im half eastern from Artsakh and half western from Van (Kingdom of Urartu) ...my westernern side are like the mediterranean flavor of the family like Syriacs (Sumerians Phoenicians), Assyrians, Greeks, Italians ...my easternern side are a little colder more like the Irish British or Bavarian flavor of Armenians if you will .myself I was born in Yerevan like Sona's hubby

I think it’s unfair a wedding dress is so incredibly expensive and often single-use. I also think we men should buy the tux if possible since every man should have one available for formal occasions anyways... Rentals are just...no.

I don’t know why someone would spend so much money on a wedding party. I think the best solution is get married at the courthouse, have a nice barbecue with family and friends...something easy going and then spend the money that was for the wedding party on a magical vacation/honeymoon and also a house down payment.

Ooooh trust me once you’ve been a part of an Armenian wedding you can’t wait for a potential next one. I’ve been a part of 10 including my own. It’s amazing, fun, entertaining, the food and drinks are always there so you’ll never run out of that…….and you know what you’re getting yourself into.

If I had had 550 guests at my wedding, I would have either hemorrhaged or have had to be coked up the whole time. I can barely imagine that many guests. 130 of them were enough for me; but then, I'm an introvert..
