The family that makes the books have been creating them since roughly the 14th century and have a specific lineage of goats that they use for the book covers and binding. The color of the goats is very important and they have to have no more than nine and a half hours of sunlight per day, in order to ensure the correct texture and color. Each book comes with a selection of carefully aged cheeses from the goat, but you can't eat them until one year, to the day, after you've used the first excuse in the book. The excuses are already in the book, so it's important that you're fluent in Italian. Otherwise they don't work.
