This is a direct result of the Glazers not giving a you-know-what about the club and just milking her for dividends while the debt piles up. The fact that INEOS has resorted to selling naming rights to raise money is a very good indicator that the club needs more income to try and balance the books. Apart from that OT just looks like she needs more than a fresh coat of paint. This is sad because I totally get the attachment to the history but at the same time, current circumstances dictate harsh solutions. You have to separate OT and the whole development. It’s going to be massive and will include both private and state funding. Private will fund the Stadium, hotels and leisure, housing, shopping complexes and possibly a new Freeport. The state will chip in towards the roads and transport infrastructure as it’s servicing the whole area. This isn’t just a stadium and a few shops build, it’s going to be transformable for South Manchester as a whole, with the backing of the Mayor. Had the Tories stayed in power I doubt it would have been as an ambitious project, but with a Labour government I think the prospect to turn so much derelict land around OT into an attractive destination for foreign investment is too much to resist. I reckon it will take around 10 years to finish and will have a new Stadium at its heart, but the body will be something we can all look at, use and visit even if you are not a United fan. It will be the Trafford Centre on steroids.

It shouldn’t be the naming rights that concern you, it’s the “Due Diligence” carried out by INEOS that is the cause for concern. Radcliffe pledged £236 million to refurbish the old Trafford ground, and now £120 million of that pledge is being used to refinance the debt and is seen as more of a priority. It seems to me that INEOS have not interpreted some of the details properly in the deal that they struck with the Galziers and have found that in the small print they are liable for a lot more than they bargained for. Now they are six months in, they are getting to know that there are a more skeletons in the cupboard than they had previously thought and most of which will be their responsibility. Let’s see if the Carrington training ground gets the investment promised along with the ground?

Name change possible will be detrimental; however with a new name (after all the moaning & fuss), it should lend to more positivity, less trolling and nastiness, a new start, etc BUT a name change ain't going to go down well for a while. Sadly, the Glazer's are right in it still. However surely they won't have shares? BUT I have no doubt these miserable owners are right in it already. New name, new coaching team to join ETH...new brooms sweep clean; who knows Huge ticket price increases would not be very fair for those who struggle to afford a ticket. Gosh, Ratcliffe needs to have balls & not do the bidding on behalf of the Glazer's. Thanks for the show.

There's no excuse we have two types of billionaires running the show. One in particular is supposedly the richest man in the UK and he could buy the club outright and still be the richest man in UK. We shouldn't be losing any naming rights at all, if we do then our club won't feel the same. As for the stadium a refurb would be an embarrassment, just look at smaller clubs building new stadiums better than ours. All it takes is to use the carparks and land there to build a new stadium. Once the new stadium is built they can remove the old grounds and rebuild a new transport system around the train line and carparks for fans to park and get off even a mini bus and coach station. As long as we build beside the old grounds I would be happy with that and fans would have to be patient and commute by foot or park elsewhere.

We're not broke. The underlying business fundamentals are good, the club really is a cash generating machine. But there are challenges that are being addressed like the wage structure of the squad, the disastrous transfer dealings of the last 10 years that we'll be paying for for a while yet, and the bloated workforce. And of course not being in the Champions League hits the finances hard. Debt for the stadium project isn't a problem. The reason clubs like Barca, Madrid, Bayern, and even Spurs, can do these huge projects is because the increase in revenues is multiples of any financing costs. It'd be the same with us. Not a fan of stadium naming rights. But when your competitors are doing it, it's hard not to follow suit otherwise you're at a disadvantage. It's not long ago Barca said they would never have a shirt sponsor, now they have shirt sponsorship and stadium sponsorship.

But the vulture capitalism the glazers represent with their leveraged buy out, debt saddling, sweating of assets and lack of investment to take as much out the club as possible is disgraceful. They should never have been allowed to buy the club with debt that they put on to our club. Football clubs should have special regulations so that they cant be bought like that as though it is any regular business. I like Ratcliffe and am glad we have a british owner and not a foreign state. The reality is this is the best deal we could hope for. Glazers did not want to sell so Ratcliffe did what he needed to do to get in the door. It is the first step to getting rid of the glazers for good. I believe that the changes they are making with new structure and good appointments will reap rewards in the next few years. I also want a new stadium. I just think it is the best option. We can then play at old trafford while they are building it and even keep it afterwards surely. Last year I was in san Francisco and went to the 49ers stadium and it is unbelievable. Also the allianz is incredible. It just has to be done for us to move forward i think.

Sir Rat left the UK to avoid paying tax, he fits in perfectly at the Glazers CashCowFC. It's taking a while but people will soon realise that United, in INEOS,bhave added another Glazer.

Ratcliffe payed lots of taxes up until his retirement age of 65. You can't compare Ratcliffe to tax exiles like Lewis Hamilton etc.

Naming rights are fine. Get the money in. Just hope we get a good sponsor!

AT THE END OF THE DAY If it generates alot of money to improve the club then I'm not fussed about the name change.

They can change the name alright, but fans will still call it OT.
