I have both Versions. Got to play both with several friends, unfortunately they knew nothing about Strategy. One for example playing the U.S in the Pacific version had the idea of 'I'm going to build a wall of ships and sail right to Japan." I played the Axis on both games vs 3 other playing the Allies. Easy victories. Going to bring it to my father's next time I spend time at his house and see how well he does.

5:54 - 6:05 Sorry to say, this is slightly incorrect. From the rulebook, page 11: "Strict neutrals are treated in exactly the same way as unfriendly neutrals, with one exception. An attack by either alliance on a strict neutral territory (whether successful or not) will result in all remaining strict neutrals immediately becoming pro-Allies or pro-Axis, depending on who violated the strict neutral’s neutrality. For example, if Germany attacks Sweden, all the other strict neutrals on the map would take on a pro-Allies status for all purposes." So, attacking one strict neutral will result in ALL OTHER strict neutral nations to become pro-[your enemy]

Thanks for your labor intensive and well produced game rules videos! My brother swears by them. A minor slip of tongue on this one at 34’06” where you reference JAPAN instead of Germany and Italy. Obviously you forgot to change that when reutilizing your material from Pacific 1940.

Hi there, great serie of video for A&A so far but i found 1 major error you did in this video and in the one for the Pacific. Regarding Bombing raid (either Strategic or Tactical). ALL the air units involved (Bombers, Escorts and Interceptors) have an attack/ defense value of 1! So what you're saying is correct BUT what is written on the screen (30:15) is wrong! Thank you and keep the good work.

I’m putting this question up before finishing the video but how best would you divide this game between four and five players respectively?
@unlockingsnow8571
@unlockingsnow8571 5 жыл бұрын
BobbyBaconHat So as in 9 players total or 4 or 5 players total? Stuff it i will take guess for all three 4: 1- Germany 2- Italy 3- Uk and France 4 - USA and Russia Or Russia and France or America and France your choice 5: 1- Germany 2- Italy 3- France and America 4- UK 5- Russia Just realised 9 players is impossible. If you play global 1940 4: 1-China and USA 2- uk and France and Anzac 3- japan, Germany, Italy 4 Russia 5: 1-China and USA 2- UK, Anzac and France 3- Germany and Italy 4- Japan 5- Russia

Cant transports load, move, then unload on the same turn , i. E. Non combat moves ? Im curious bc i havent seem this explained as per the original rules u could only load , move, n stay on til the next turn , unless bridging of course
@simonhakansson9300
@simonhakansson9300 5 жыл бұрын
You can load and offload on the same turn, the only exeption is multinational forces. Lets say brittain wants to transport infantry using american transport, then Brittain board the transports on America´s turn, the transport moves (or not!) and then the troops offload on Brittain´s turn

Hi. I like these how-to-play videos, and they're both entertaining and enlightening. That having been said, I (Colombian-American) must point out that you misspelled Colombia. It's not "Columbia" as in the personification of the U.S. or the "District of Columbia," although, perversely both variations were coined as an homage to Cristopher Columbus. You might want to re-visit your video and fix it, or avoid making the same mistake in future ones.

What neutral teriories can aircraft fly over?
@harsh-rules
@harsh-rules 6 жыл бұрын
The Rules in quotes: For Friendly Neutral Territories "Friendly neutrals may not be attacked, and air units may not fly over them." For Strict Neutral Territories "Strict neutrals are treated in exactly the same way as unfriendly neutrals, with one exception. An attack by either alliance on a strict neutral territory (whether successful or not) will result in all remaining strict neutrals immediately becoming pro-Allies or pro-Axis, depending on who violated the strict neutral’s neutrality." For Unfriendly Neutral Territories "Air units can’t fly over an unfriendly neutral unless they are attacking it." Of course once you take over a neutral... "Once any formerly neutral territory becomes controlled by a major power, the rules regarding neutral territories no longer apply to it."

@@harsh-rules After I posted the question here, I sent an email to Avalon Hill publications. They replied today and said that because there are no rules in the book stating whether or not they can, that house rules must be used.
@stevenmiller9383
@stevenmiller9383 3 жыл бұрын
Our house rules are that Russia and United States are allowed to spend 10 APCs per turn to build their army. In real life, if a country is not planning to go to war, they will not be building a massive army. And if you think about it, USA spending 45 IPC‘s per turn in building their army is not fair. After three turns of being neutral, they will have an army so large that the game would be broken.
