Easy. Here are 8 ways to improve IPL. Anyone agree? 1. Scrap impact player 2. Sort the technology out so we don’t spend years waiting for drs ball tracking and ultra edge 3. Introduce hot spot 4. No strategic time out. No one cares about this 5. No mega auction Teams that have built a good team shouldn’t be penalised with only 4 retentions. Mini auction is enough and this allows bad teams a chance to release many players and good teams to retain. Or at least if we have mega auction then have 6 retentions and 2-4 RTM. 6. No playing teams back to back 7. Bigger boundaries 8. Scrap wide and no ball reviews

Completely agree and we should also try to protect the branding of the franchises. Fans can't get emotionally attached to their teams if they keep changing every few years. I bought a Deccan Chargers jersey back in 2009 and the franchise became defunct few years later. This has to stop. New owners doesn't mean the team/branding has to change.

I think the best retention will be 3 Indians, 2 foreigners & 2 right to match or 2 indian, 2 foreigners & 3 right to match rules should be like 1) max 3 Indian players 2) max 2 foreign players 3) max 3 right to match only if 2 indian players are retained

I don’t understand the fuss over mega auctions. They let you retain 6 players which is more than half your team to retain the core of your team for fan engagement. Last mega auction was an exception cause 2 new teams had to have a fair shot at players. Mega auctions are important for teams to bounce back and build better teams, plus its fun to watch

I feel the teams should be allowed to retain all of your uncapped players as they are not only finding them from hidden and non-mainstream leagues but also grooming them all by themselves. If this rule is created then it will also urge the teams to improve their scouting and get higher quality uncapped players. This will increase the demand of uncapped players and help more uncapped players come into the IPL.

auction is so old school. the main problem isnt just inconsistency and unfair situations for scouts but also that players dont get to choose the franchise they wanna play for. theres always that unwanted pressure of " hey we bought you for so much money so u have to be worth it and perform". players playing for teams they like are likely to perform better and closer to their potential. just make it a transfer market like in football but with spending limits so as to avoid man city kinda situations. so contracts , bonuses and all that but with restrictions. adding conditions to retentions is overcomplicating things. but bcci likes to hog money and surely they make some kinda profit out of auction and its broadcasting. these greedy fucks wont change a thing even if its for the better

The only problem with rewarding scouting iwith retention instead of RTM is players ( especially those not in the top echelon) will not get a fair value and because of the number of retentions allowed will have to worry about or riski not getting picked in the auction. Being allowed to implicitly force someone to continue working for you would be a bit like military slavery, No?

Since there are few good indian allrounders , if impact rule is removed indian pace allrounders will have very high demand ..generally the demand for allrounders inthe league increases high... But it will help only the teams with good indian allrounders others without good indian allrounders have to depend on foreigners and this will affect the balance and equality among teams.. This inequality played a crucial role in mumbais success when they had hardik Pandya who was the only dependable indian pace allrounders at that time .. impact player rule helps to cover up that loop hole.. in future when good pace allrounders like nitish Reddy or hardik pandya or players like those become common then it is logical to remove impact rule

I think the essence of a sports tournament lies in competitive games. What auctions allow is it strives to balance all the teams! Frankly, regarding engagement, i don't think we actually engage with a team. We engage with players! People are Dhoni or Kohli fans rather than CSK/RCB fans. So 2-3 retentions will save the brand-value and engagements of the fans.

ONLY 2 Retention & 2 RTM options.. that would be the Best possible option for upcoming auction and overhaul of entire IPL.. 16 years of same Boredom and same teams players mostly.. its time for a change.. and players need to be distributed equally for fair tournament. Every team deserves equal opportunities and equal level players, teams like KKR, CSK, MI have been retaining players over the years and that is the reason they have won most trophies.. its time for a change let good players go to other team as well.. if the player is fit for the whole tournament he will get his full fee. However, if any injury shortens his stay, he will only be paid for the amount of matches he was there for. Both cases are for availability, regardless if the player is actually included in the 11 or not.

However, if a player gets injured during the IPL and is ruled out for the rest of the tournament, they will still receive their full salary. A good example is Kane Williamson, who got injured in his first match of the IPL last year but still received his entire IPL fee.

He could have hurt anyone there including the security guards. Who wants the possible prospect of blood on a Cricket field? The match should have been cancelled immediately. It also holds up the idea that in the future someone will try to "top it."

Ipl is a big lucrative professional league . It's not a grooming ground for national team.. removing impact player rule causes inequality among teams and reduces competitiveness of the league..
