This is chapter 11 of NCERT History Class 6 Textbook titled Buildings, Paintings and Books where the metallurgical class of ancient Indian craftsmen has been displayed. We have started with the iron pillar of Mehrauli which probably belonged to a ruler of Gupta dynasty. Then we have discussed about stupas and rock cut temples found all over India. The procedure of building stupas and rock cut structures has been discussed and the sort of paintings found on the inner wall of rock cut structures has been discussed. Important epics/books of those times wrt to Science, Astronomy, Medicine, Culture have also been discussed. Watch the video for more details.
