Thanks for the video. It's been more than a year since my sink pump (basment sink) stopped working. Saved me money for the parts and a plumber. I just had to clean the diaphragm and the hole you mentioned. There is no need to take out the whole unit. Thanks again

Very good video on how to repair and clean the water pump. The iron residue in the diaphragm switch prevented the switch to function. Residue from hard water may also cause a similar problem. Good video on how to repair the Hartell water pump.

Thank you for this video! I was at a loss on how to even start troubleshooting. Popped the switch cover off, cleaned out the gunk and she's purring like a kitten. I didn't even have to take the pump down from the sink.

Thank you for this video, it got me to look into the problem vs just replacing the pump. I don't know if it will help anyone else but I stuck a shop vac hose into the drain to clear the standing water in my sink. When I did it dislodged whatever was blocking the pump and it's operating normally again.

You should install a 1 inch ball valve on the discharge line. Throttle it down so it doesn't short cycle

Good point Ken! There is a ball valve installed to throttle the discharge... I didn't have the water on full blast during that test and the pump was faster than the faucet!
