I really wanted to specialize in propeller maintenance because my boss doesn't teach me because he's afraid of losing his position, I tried looking for an online course on propellers but I couldn't find it

A much bigger roll of tape would make this easier.

I think I would have just filled that scratch with bondo and painted the prop. That wasn’t a gouge it was a tiny scratch! You actually did more damage to the structural integrity of that prop by repairing the “damage”.

Just asking what are your qualifications to make such a comment. Not trying to be starting any KZbin fights I just want to know what should be best because the difference between dressing up Rob and doing a structural repair are very different from what I understand and what I read in the regs I don’t think I’m even allowed to dress up a prop like that am I ? I understand fiberglass repair as I worked on a lot of boats, but now that I’m working on GA Aviation Aviation it’s all rules and regulations now.

Well I don’t have any “qualifications” I do have experience with both composites and experimental aircraft. Technically you aren’t allowed to do much of anything if you have a certified aircraft. But you can do almost anything you want on an experimental. Not including any type commercial use be it part 91, 135, 121, ect. I don’t understand why anyone would want a certified aircraft. So if you are flying one you “technically” can’t do much. Obviously if you are an A&P especially if you have an I/A and working on a customers aircraft you wouldn’t dream of doing anything outside the manufacturers procedure due to the liability. I was thinking about experimental aircraft, not just experimental but your own experimental aircraft be it a homebuilt you are working on under your repairmans certificate or a commercially produced aircraft as that is what I am familiar with when I made this comment.

No Mask. No Gloves, No Eyewear :(. I used to do repairs on composites at Spacex. We would never work with composites without proper PPE

My workplace would never let me contaminate my repair with sharpie like that. Use PPE, please. Your lack of PPE use might be why you have the shakes.

This was great in theory but his repair was dodgy, the marker on the glass, the glass even moved out of place when he taped it too. And surprised they didnt fair it either.
