I am deeply impressed with the example of "thank twice" culture in Japan that you used in pointing out the difference between 「ありがとうございます」and 「ありがとうございました」. いつも教えてくれてありがとうございます。
Haru Sensei, would you please tell us what is the difference between "Gokurosama" & "Otsukaresama"? It sounds weird to me that when I hear foreigner says to tour bus driver "Otsukaresama" when he takes off from the bus. It should be "Gokurosama", right? "Otsukaresama" should be the greeting from driver to passenger as the passenger is the customer. Thank you!
