How funny. When I was at Harvard nearly 15 years ago, I would stop by the CVS to get candy too. It was such a nice treat that wasn't too expensive. The CVS now is much larger, and it changed locations. In the mid 2000s, it was just up from the entrance to the coop. There was a homeless guy who always asked for money, and if you didn't give him anything he would insult you. I purposefully walked by him every day just to see what things he would insult as I valued his honest feedback. He told me when it was time to get a haircut or get new shoes because mine were worn out. When I graduated, I came back and gave him a very nice amount of money. He looked so surprised, and I shared how he had been helping me for years even though he hadn't realized it. Thank you so much for sharing your journey as it reminds me of one of the happiest times of my life. I hope you will cherish the years you get to spend there.

@@宻 I don't feel comfortable sharing precise compensation, but like all Amazon offers it included: a signing bonus, RSUs (aka stock options), a base salary. The full compensation was more than double what I was earning as a full stack software engineer before going to Harvard. My first role at Amazon was as a TPM which I held for 5 months before moving to a Software Engineering Manager. I did that for a year, and then moved to Senior Product Manager. If you get a chance to work at Amazon, I'd suggest going for it regardless of role. There's a high amount of flexibility with employees changing jobs and teams during their time there.

One epiphany I had after watching your video is how in control your life is as opposed to your life controlling you and how most people are mere drifters. Hey am Indian and mango is like our national fruit...ig u don't have an allergy it's jst mango sometimes get really stringy near d skin of mango (reminds me of hyphae of fungi idk y) and when we eat mangoes fast the sticky stringy stuffs near d skin of mango gets stuck to throat and makes it itchy and it's followed by a lot of coughs, so we eat it slowly and avoid d side near d skin of d mango. But am not sure..u also may have allergy. Am in my first year of physics under grad in a central university of India...also am kinda at crossroads and thinking of going into medicine...lets see what happens. But if i stay in physics (i love physics and how analytical it is) i also wanna go to ivy league college for masters. Sometimes i get scared for my future on bad days. Fingers crossed!! U are kinda my inspiration now.
