hello Cole. I have no idea why your channel is so fascinating to a 70 year old pensioner on the east coast of Australia who has never farmed but it is. Well done with all you are doing to improve and manage your farms.

I agree with what you said. I found Coles channel when watching his old house clean up video and I was hooked on his personality. Now I am hooked on farming beans and corn . I am from Iowa but never been a farmer, but sure wish I had been or married one. I am a 60 year old nurse that loves this Corn Star family . Cole is such a wholesome god loving young man, I just love his videos♡

Hello Cole from South Carolina. I am proud to see a young fella as yourself farming. It's almost a lost way of life. O watch your vids with my 8yr old and now he wants to farm as well. As we don't have huge farms here, we will be planting this spring like I did as a kid and he and I are building a pig pen and chicken coup so he can raise his own food. Keep up the good work young man and tell Dad cornstar hello.

I have to tell you, I was hard pressed as to what I should make for dinner the other night, well, to be honest, every night. Anyway, I was inspired to search out what Iowans eat, and I came across a recipe for a Made-right. Then I remembered Daddy CS mention this culinary oddity, I say that because he was slathering a couple lumps of something with Heinz ketchup. So I made it for my family as I fortunately had all of the ingredients, and boy howdy! They were pretty darn good! Thanks for the inspiration, that recipe is a keeper.😋

@14:30 Daddy Cornstar with some great advice that many people don't think about! Also to add to it especially for us who live in a northern climate if you ever get stuck in the deep snow and/the ditch the first thing you should immediately do is get out and clear the snow out and around from the tailpipe, many people don't realize or think about it because they assume it'll melt the snow and since you always should leave the vehicle on so you don't freeze just remember to check it. Especially if your sleep in a vehicle at night during a snow storm make sure the tailpipe is open and always I mean always roll down two windows a minimum of 4 to 6 inches when taking a nap, this is a good idea to do anytime sleeping in a vehicle regardless of snow or not. In my hometown a whole family passed away while waiting for a tow truck after getting stuck. That's 4 people that not one noticed they were getting carbon monoxide poisoning. It happens extremely quick and it's easy to miss the signs especially when you're already tired and stressed out from getting stuck or going into the ditch. thank for the videos Cole and your sister has been doing a great job with the videos, and thanks to Daddy Cornstars for the safety tips and always providing the laughs.

When we combine corn we run an 8 row chopping heads on our combines . We use GPS and it skips 8 rows at the end so that we don't have to turn as sharp we use the same method when we do tillage. It also keeps the auger pointed out for unloading on the go.
@RJ1999x4 жыл бұрын
How can it skip 8 rows with the combine and keep.the auger out?
@anthonybanda81924 жыл бұрын
The way we harvest is that by runing skips the auger can always point outward away from the standing corn. The auger that are on our machines are longer than normal for custom harvesting so we can unload on the go and give the grain cart tractor room to move without being close to the header. On johndeere combines with 40 foot draper header the grain cart tractor runs close to the header like between 16 and 20 inches close if you run a stock unload auger so getting a larger auger is very important. Trust me I farm 3500 acres of my own land and custom harvest another 2000 acres i spend about 4 months a year harvesting we start with winter wheat then go right into soybeans about a month later.
@RJ1999x4 жыл бұрын
@@anthonybanda8192 Been farming for 35 years custom combined wheat run when I was 18 but still can't figure out how you can skip 8 rows and always have your auger out, and nobody makes an auger that swings out over 8 rows and can dump in the center of a grain cart. It's not possible. Your auger would need to be 45' long
@anthonybanda81924 жыл бұрын
Ok I get what you mean. We don't leave the auger pointed out all the time . We try to leave a Corridor open so we can spin around to unload is what I mean. We run large fields and in corn it can be difficult to keep the machine empty. We run down one corridor than turn around to another and when the center is open the grain cart can be unloaded on sorry I'm not good at explaining things.
