Harvest Home (Hornpipe)

A hornpipe that is an essential one to know for a session, as doubtless everyone else will know it too! Easy to pick up, and a lovely rhythm characteristic of hornpipes.
Also referred to as "The Cork Hornpipe"

Any tips for total beginner 5 days in on the tin whistle can play 8 tunes 2 jigs 2 polkas 2 songs and 2 nursery rhymes with a couple of 100 mistakes trying to memorize the notes😃does the playing develop with time if you keep practicing 👍

Thanks for your comment Gerard. Best tip at first is to keep learning new songs and tunes - you'll learn new skills as you go, and each time you learn a new note sequence, it'll become easier to learn the next one. You definitely get better with time and practice. I have some resources on my website thewhistler726.weebly.com if you need a hand with some of the technical stuff. Mistakes are part of the process. Even now after multiple thousands of tunes played and learned, it usually takes me about 10 plays through to not make a mistake.

It's well-known but certainly not easy! Hornpipes are one of the hardest tune types to get right
