$20 per night boon-docking with a reservation. - if you are a budget minded traveler, this is what you need to know first. Then you take into account the value of that $20 or more expenditure based on the products you purchase for $20 and the experience. It is probably a fantastic value in most cases, assuming you can afford the $20 for a product that is a luxury and not a necessity. I think of it as a hybrid between a destination experience and an inexpensive layover night. If it's in your budget, it's an opportunity for something a little special. But if "free place to park overnight" is what grabbed your attention, then it may not be the right place for you or the merchant allowing the fee parking.

Yes, purple. I am going to join -- very excited about this program. I want to tell people, though, that it really IS very important for us to be polite and good guests. I went as a musician to a wonderful Oregon winery. The woman told me that they HAD been Harvest Hosts hosts, but dropped out of the program after several bad guest experiences. Darn! So people, we really do need to be polite and non- demanding and good customers as well.

I HAVE to get a self-contained rig now! Robin, even a year commitment to staying at Harvest Host sites won't get them all in. It would have to be a two-year commitment!! I checked the site after the last video and it was so easy to navigate. I enjoyed reading the reviews too. The hosts were all so hospitable. The membership is really affordable.

We have a self contained converted shuttle bus and will be making our maiden voyage this Tuesday and plan to stay at 3 harvest hosts on our way to Colorado for a wedding. We will let you know how it goes. So excited to use our membership for the first time!!!

I wonder why anybody would click “thumbs down” on this post. What’s not to like? Two travelers talking about a new and different way to choose a free campsite is a good thing! The only requirement is that you be self contained. Now, there are quite a few vans out there that could not use this camp site but I’m sure they are being creative enough about areas to boondock that they might still want to visit these spots. Girl - you just gave me a great idea for my travels. I always have to have a reason for visiting or traveling to any place for some reason. All I’ve got to do is find HH’s that interest me and hop from one HH to the next HH - maybe a few Walmart’s and an occasional campground to load up and dump in between!! This is going to be amazing!! (He sort of looks like Edward Norton lol !!)

This is awesome. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I am pleasantly surprised there are locations in Canada. I can stay in PEI for three nights at three different locations with a membership. This is something I will definitely sign up for when I hit the road in the coming years. Even if I'm not full time, I'll take advantage of these locations. The organic farms appeal to me most because I love buying straight from the farmer. I do that now at farmers' markets. The taste can't be beat, and it does feel great to support local people because you know the money is staying in the community and helping that farm and that family. This is an awesome service, and I hope it is not taken advantage of by inconsiderate campers. It would ruin it for the rest of us who do respect the rules.

Right now - not self contained with a tear drop trailer but larger RV is in the near future. Will definitely be a Harvest Host member because of the cool experiences. RVing is about the experiences... Right?!

Lots of HH sites ... unless you are traveling in Alaska. 😢 There seem to be barely a scant handful of HH locations in this entire huge state. I'm looking forward to checking out HH when I get to the lower 48 though. 👍

It's called One 'N Only Argan Oil Hair Color. I got it at Sallys. The box had the hair color but the tube I have doesn't say anything. It last 6-8 washes. I'm a full-time RVer so that's about 3 weeks for me lol. I keep my hair bleach blonde so the colors are more vibrant.

Thanks Robin for reviewing Harvest Hosts again, Joel is great and is obviously going to take this fantastic business to new places! We haven’t bought our van yet, as we have at least another year before my husband retires, but I will remember to purchase a membership to Harvest Host when we hit the road. Having traveled cross country many times the idea of looking up locations by route sounds great. The example Joel used in Kansas was so perfect...something fun to look forward to after a long day of driving. Sometimes it’s fun to stop off where you know someone is expecting you and tour a new place as a special guest!
