Your informative and detailed reviews are something lost within the KZbin gaming community. No camera antics, or hammy crap found everywhere else. Just a damn good review, with great insight. I love watching them! Please do some for other consoles, like the PS One or Dreamcast! Your channel deserves a 1,000,000 subs.

Thanks Blue, like all channels I make the odd mistake here and there but I just do what I enjoy. Like you said I’m not one for over the top drama/comedy/voice acting etc but I just like to chat old games every now and again 😬 I’d rather have 1 sub who’s genuinely into what I do than 1million who just sub for the sake of it 😬

I remember my first wife in this game. It was Karen. I noticed that her feelings for me improved when I showed her my dog once. So I tried to see if it would keep working and after 50 "shows", her feelings went up a notch. I showed her my dog 150 times and she fell in love with me. Lol. She was always a hard catch but the girl must love dogs.

I loved the hell out of this game when my family had it for the N64. It was always pretty satisfying to finish the game with a fully upgraded farm, a wife and child, and hundreds of thousands in the bank XD. At first I thought I'd never like a game like this, but my grandma brought it over to our house one time and I thought it was just great.

+homesponge It's been known for quite a few years now that it's never happening. Apparently the game is too glitchy to port. So basically spend the 60+ bucks to get the game on Ebay, or emulate. I'm normally against emulation, but I emulate the shit out of this game. The makers ain't gonna make a cent from me buying a super expensive potentially shit copy so I will unabashedly emulate the ever loving fuck out of it. And you should too. Spread the word. Maybe those lazy cunts will take note and get on making a proper retail virtual console version.

I loved this game as a child. This was my summer of the year 2000. It had so many secrets that it would drive you crazy trying to find them all. It also had alot of glitches, some of them game destroying. I tried so hard to unlock the fourth TV station only to later find out that it didn't exist in the western versions of the game. It was aparently scrapped due time and budget issues. Also, a cooking system was also scrapped from the final game, and the unlockable kitchen became nothing more than a mostly empty room with a fridge and a recipe book that you could collect recipes for but never use. However, a cooking system was added into the Play Station version Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, which had all the same character designs as this game.

This and the PS1 Harvest Moon were fantastic, I've been a HUGE HM fan since the first game. The PS1 version is similar to the 64 game, but with a new environment and a ton of extra stuff. Its sad that the new Harvest Moon games have been pretty disappointing. Thankfully Rune Factory has been able to make up for it. No offense, but those crop layouts made me cringe XD You should use the hoe to make a 3x3 square minus the bottom middle square, and make sure to keep each 3x3 grid at least one empty space apart. This'll let you have access to 8 plants, both for watering and picking, whereas the H style will only let you have 7, and filling in every space in a large area will end up leaving you with only 6.

What I like (and hate) about this game, is just how much these carts go for. I went to pick up a copy for my fiance (she loves the HM series) and was FLOORED. Just look up the prices (at least here in the US) for a loose cart. Don't even BOTHER looking for a cart in box. You could be well on your way to a house payment.

Spot on review, Glenn. I only came upon this game a few years ago, so I think that fact may have had a lot to do with how I felt about it. I had trouble getting into it, and after giving it maybe a season or two, I basically stopped playing. If I had come upon this at an earlier time in my life, it might have had a bigger impact. Unfortunately, games that start very slowly tend not to have much staying power with me. That said, the game is wonderfully unique. There's really no other game like it on the system, and there were a few moments during certain events in the game that felt really special. Moments where you feel as though this is a real community that exists, and it all feels very human. I'm definitely never going to sell the game, because I might just get into it...someday.

I got my start in this series with Back to Nature, but I can see why people like this version so much. The areas seem more interesting, there's more characters to interact with, and the game just seems to have more charm than Back to Nature. I just wish it didn't feel like you were so strapped for time in the game. It feels like you blink and the day is over, to the point it feels like you have to purposefully choose everyday: Do I work on the farm or do I hang out in town? I desperately wish someone would make a romhack that extends the length of a day! At least in Back to Nature, you could work on your farm, and still have an in-game hour or 3 left to talk to your potential wife.

If you ever do, i'd pick up "Story of Seasons" for the 3DS. It's made by the people who made Harvest Moon, they just couldn't call it that because of problems with Natsume (they own Harvest Moon). If you want classic Harvest Moon on a handheld, i'd recommend Friends of Mineral Town. I've never really enjoyed Harvest Moon on consoles and I can't bring myself to play really old Harvest Moon games either. I like being able to take my game with me for a game like Harvest Moon. The more modern systems work so much better than having to run back to your tool shed to change tools or being able to only carry 1 thing at a time.

I found this in my garage a couple years back along with a game boy covered in a horrible sticker that I scrubbed off with a toothbrush while cleaning, must have been the previous owners. It was in perfect condition, stupidly I sold it to GameStop in hopes of getting some extra cash to buy spider man 2018, they gave me $2.14 lol. It goes on eBay for about 60 in the condition I had it in. I was younger, and less wise. I kept the game boy though, still works!

I remember playing this game for hours to no end. Me and my brothers managed to marry to a different girl: My bigger brother would marry Karen, my middle brother the pink haired girl, and me, the youngest, the simple but charming baker girl Ellie. Fond memories of this game, my uncle got it for us.

I always went after either Karen or Ellie. Ellie was cute and humble, while Karen was a spitfire. I always thought it was funny that Karen would sometimes break eggs while helping out on the farm after you marry her XD.

I used to have this AND the SNES version (and got them new back in the day - for real) but I had to sell them -__- I loved this game though. I haven't been as into the more recent Harvest Moon games, but the original ones had a definite charm. Not a je nais se quoi as much as a yo no sé que.

Never played a Harvest Moon game but I was looking into the SNES game not long back though didn't know much about it, I assumed it was something along the lines of this but didn't really know how pact it was with activities but this one on the N64 looks right up my ally.. I like games such as the Sim cities and Tycoon games so this is much like that but with farming I guess. I would have lost hours to this game had I of had it in the day.

Personally, seeing this game NOW makes me wish to know it existed other than just simple Mario Games, Pokémon, XBOX, and all sorts of other games! Seeing this game can really melt your heart and get you just excited based on the fact how you get to choose freely what you can/cannot do in the environment given to you in the game. I could make an hour Review for this game WITHOUT EVEN PLAYING THE GAME! Seeing a few walkthroughs actually made me a bit excited that a game like this could help you be satisfied for quite a long time instead of just beating the game in 1-5 Days. My question to you Glenn, "Which woman did you choose to marry in Harvest Moon?" If I played the Game. Mine would be Elli. Mostly because her personality could perhaps fit my taste. (Bullies on the internet are named after them because they are a fucking cactus with: "Get a life mothafucka.") Would you recommend getting a Wii U (From what I read, I believe that we use one just to play these games.) to just play this game and other Harvest Moon games? I perhaps may choose to get one later on in life just for kicks and giggles. This game reminds me a lot like Animal Crossing which I LOVED IT when I was younger, personally I have so much STUFF in my mind right now, I cannot explain it in this Comment section.

It was a good game I remember it well. Unfortunately this is one of those times I have to tip my hat to PlayStation ...Back to Nature was way better than HM 64. I had both and while I will always have a soft spot of HM 64 the PS version just had so much more stuff in it. I think ther series as a whole kinda lost it's way after that generation, going too weird or keeping the game too short. It's funny now that Farming Simulator is beginning to make some ground.
