If Russia did not possess nuclear weapons, it would have long ago become a Western colony. Stalin understood this perfectly well, which is why the Los Alamos safeguards were of no use. When Truman threatened Stalin in Potsdam with a “new powerful weapon,” Stalin only smiled. It is also worth mentioning that during the Korean War, it was MacArthur who advocated the atomic bombing of Chinese cities as a response to Chinese support for the Korean communists. If the West were ruled by sensible people who saw a chance for development in cooperation and respect for Russia’s national interests, all this talk about what would happen if Russia could be destroyed would not have appeared at all. The West openly expressed its desire to destroy Russia, so now the Russian nuclear arsenal is an insurance policy for a huge part of the world, including the Russian part of Europe and Asia. A deadly game is being played on a global scale, and Russia is now the stronger side than the collective West, dreaming of neocolonial domination of a world that slipped through its fingers long ago, also thanks to nuclear weapons.

I now have a much clearer understanding of World War II. The plan of the Western "Allies" was to do nothing in Europe until Hitler defeated Russia (as the West expected), at which point they would have made peace with Hitler -- and the looting of Russia could begin. We can't forget the oligarchs' fascist coup attempt against the U.S. government (just before World War II started) that was only thwarted due to General Smedley Butler's incorruptibility.

“This is nothing more than an attempt to contain our military potential,” the presidential spokesperson told reporters on Wednesday. “Of course, this will lead to the adoption of appropriate measures to ensure parity.” Peskov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned for nearly two decades that NATO’s eastward expansion undermines Russian national security. He recalled that Putin had addressed the issue while meeting with then-US President George W. Bush in the 2000s, and that Moscow had insisted “the words of the Americans that all these plans are aimed against the Iranian threat are in fact a lie.” Moscow has repeatedly warned that it sees the US-led military bloc’s expansion toward Russia’s borders as an existential threat. Russia has also consistently denied any intention of attacking NATO, with President Putin recently describing warnings about Russian aggression toward Western Europe as “nonsense” aimed at alarming citizens and raising defense budgets in the West. - RT

Ukrainian officials admit that Russian forces are advancing in Donbass faster than at any time since the escalation of the conflict, and Kiev says its defenses are collapsing due to manpower shortages, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday. Ukrainian military officials as well as international experts expect the conflict to enter a critical phase in the coming months, according to the newspaper, as both sides are fighting for territorial advantage ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration. The article suggested that a “key battle is also shaping up in Russia’s Kursk Region,” parts of which Ukraine invaded in August, deploying some of its best-equipped units. The invading force was ultimately contained by Russian troops and is currently being beaten back, according to Moscow. - RT

I think the balance between armored vehicle and FPV drone has returned to even or possibly back in favor of the armored vehicle. I've noticed over the past several months many vehicles from both sides, not just tanks but IFVs and MRAPs too, tanking multiple hits from FPV drones and going right on. Even if they are damaged and stop, all six guys get out unharmed. Very recently I noticed many FPV drone vids they are almost exclusively trying to attack from the front and sides; to the rear, the slats, the ERA, the chains, the rebar, the cage with rubber panels, etc. is really making it difficult for the FPV drone's rather small shaped-charge to deal a critical blow. Of course the front and sides are the strongest part of any tank or armored vehicle directly from the factory. I've seen Bradley's and BMPs just driving right through 3 or 4 hits and dropping of their load....

We were attacked by a drone, 300-400 meters ahead of us. Fortunately, everything worked out. The ammunition was delivered on time, the personnel - the driver - were not injured - he says. The Russian military has destroyed five Ukrainian tanks in Russia’s Kursk Region over the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Tuesday. During the same period, Kiev has lost more than 300 troops, four infantry fighting vehicles, four artillery pieces, a counter-battery radar station, and other hardware, the ministry added. Russian forces have been advancing in the areas of the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Nikolaevo-Daryino, and Novoivanovka. Seven Ukrainian counterattacks have also been repelled, according to a statement from the ministry. Russian aviation and artillery reportedly struck Ukrainian troops in more than two dozen locations across Kursk Region. Air and missile strikes were also carried out against military concentrations in Ukraine’s Sumy Region, which borders Russia, the ministry added. Kiev’s total losses in just over three months since the launch of its incursion in Kursk Region have reached over 31,700 servicemen, 200 tanks, 131 infantry fighting vehicles, 110 armored personnel carriers and hundreds of pieces of various other equipment, including 11 US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, the Russian military stated. - RT

Trump named Fox News host, Pete Hegseth, as his nominee for Secretary of Defense. Wow!! Hegseth, apart from having served in the Army, has no experience managing a gargantuan bureaucracy like the Department of Defense. What the hell is Trump thinking? I think it is simple - he is installing loyalists in key positions who are not compromised by or beholden to the military industrial complex or the defense lobbyists in DC. I know one of those lobbyists (we used to be neighbors) and I guarantee you he is livid tonight. Trump is sending the Deep State an unmistakable message - I will be running the show. Hegseth also is not a creature of one of the many Washington “think tanks,” which are funded in large measure by the military industrial complex and the Zionist lobby. Trump did not select Hegseth because the former Army officer has a great plan for reforming the bloated, corrupt U.S. defense complex. He chose him because Hegseth is expected to follow orders and do what Trump wants. Trump also named former Congressman and former Director of National Intelligence (aka DNI), John Ratcliffe, as the nominee to head up the CIA. That is an excellent choice in my view. Ratcliffe is a straight shooter and not a self-seeker aspiring to be President, like Mike Pompeo. By virtue of his previous stint as the DNI , Ratcliffe knows where some of the bodies are buried at CIA and will play a key role in releasing the JFK files. While I’m willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, I stand by my belief that if Trump takes the US to war in Iran or China, he will destroy his Presidency, and possibly the nation. My advice, let’s wait-and-see what Trump does his first week in office. At that point, if I am wrong, I will take the drubbing I deserve. Until then, keep your powder dry. Trump is trying to do something with the bloated US Government that has never been attempted, at least until now. - sonar21

The Ukrainian military and civilian leadership are keeping Vladimir Zelensky in the dark about the desperate situation of his country in the conflict with Russia, The Economist reported on Tuesday, citing sources. As Kiev is forced to gradually yield to Russian troops, and with the prospects of continued US military aid unclear following Donald Trump’s election victory, the “deteriorating situation on the front lines is already rippling through society,” the outlet reported. According to The Economist, to avoid spreading panic and defeatism, the Ukrainian military is attempting to censor the most negative news from the front line. One unnamed senior military official confirmed this, telling the magazine that some Ukrainian leaders are seeking to insulate Zelensky from the hard truth. “It’s not even that he’s being kept in a warm bath,” he said. “He’s being kept in a sauna.” - RT

There is no reason to tell the little green man anything, as he doesn't make descisions anyway. He's just a mannequin, not even a puppet, behind whose back the CIA runs Ukraine. As for censoring an information about real situation at the frontlines from general public - this is an absolutely unachievable, with the Internet in place. Everyone in Ukraine knows, things are going bad for Ukr. side. Not everyone is ready to admit it even to anyone, but for themselves - they know.
