The Sarmat is an ICBM. Russia had ICBMS in Service for decades and nobody doubts their ability to deliver nuclear warheads to any point in the world. Moscow doesn´t need to demonstrate that by shooting a maneuverable hypersonic Avantgard vehicle into US territory with just a payload of concrete. Furthermore, the Sarmat missile has already been adopted into regular military service last year, which means that the testing phase was already over and the tests were successful. So whatever went boom on that test pad was most likely not a Sarmat missile, but who knows what new stuff gets tested there.

It's still embarrassing that it failed. It's also dangerous that it failed, because it now emboldens the US/NATO to attack Russia even harder. Then again, there have been several US and UK test missile exercises that have failed in the last few years. One of the funniest what when one of the UK's nuclear subs launched a missile, and instead of heading towards South Africa, it headed directly towards the US 🤣

The sarmet was supposedly out of testing and in service, considering the last 2 tests have been complete failures, that might have been premature. Maybe Putin can beg a few ICBM’s off of North Korea but considering how many North Korean munitions Russia just squandered at Toropets, I don’t think more aid shipments are heading to Russia. Russia needs to stop shooting down these Ukrainian drones if that’s the damage falling debris are causing, that looked like a 5kt nuke going off

Lavrov stressed that Moscow also does not want an escalation of the Ukraine conflict that would drag the West in as a direct participant, but reiterated that this would inevitably be the case if Kiev is allowed to use long-range weapons deep inside Russia. “It would be a direct war of NATO against Russia… NATO is already waging a war against Russia, but it is a hybrid war through the hands of Ukrainians. If we are talking about long-range missile weapons, it is clear to everyone that the Ukrainians themselves will not be able to use them,” he stated, explaining that tasks such as target guidance, data collection from satellites and forming flight assignments can only be carried out by specialists from countries that produce a particular weapon. Lavrov went on to accuse Western officials who are seriously considering allowing Ukraine to make indiscriminate attacks on Russia of having the “mindset of a child” playing with matches. - RT

MILITARY TUBE TODAY - Strong footage of a powerful assault by the Airborne Assault Battalion of the 40th Guards Kamchatka Marine Brigade, shows the landing of stormtroopers on the front line, threatening the cauldron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine group in the town of Ugledar south of Donetsk. The Russian military correspondent shared the video on September 21, 2024, showing how the Russian assault force in an armored vehicle, successfully landed, attacked Zelensky's men, and occupied their stronghold. The thrilling assault was not without the work of scouts, where previously the Supercam unmanned aerial vehicle of the Pacific Fleet Marine Brigade, detected enemy positions, and the military equipment they were hiding. The Supercam UAV is used for in-depth reconnaissance, flying up to 70 kilometers into the enemy's rear, is almost silent and its integrated camera is the best in its class. The personnel and weapons found were destroyed on the same day, then the stormtroopers entered the next day. The Russian channel showed on the map the direction of the attack, after forcing Kashlagach River, the Kamchatka Marine Brigade continued to advance, and expanded the bridgehead west of Ugledar. The group of about 8 stormtroopers, in addition to driver, continued to bypass the Ukrainian defenses, hitting with shot after shot from close range directly in the enemy trenches, and without losses on the Russian side. They also attacked with FPV drones, eliminating Kiev personnel, and burning their equipment. As a result of the successful landing, the Marines occupied an important stronghold near Ugledar, which threatened to encircle the town. This meant that the town would soon be squeezed, the prospect of holding positions in such conditions was not encouraging for the Ukrainian troops still entrenched there. On the same day on the Ugledar cauldron, video footage was published of the breakthrough, where Kashlagach River and the advance to Novoukrainka began. More than 20 square kilometers of territory were liberated by Russian stormtroopers from the tank formations of the Vostok group from Buryatia, after fighting at the recently liberated Prechistovka. The ranks of Ukrainian soldiers wavered, about 12 men from the 58th Infantry Brigade, who valued life more than the Nationalist ideals, laid down their weapons, and raised their hands in repose. The surviving tank crew prisoners, lucky for the time being, spoke in a video published by Buryatia stormtroopers.

Avangard is a HGV: hypersonic glide vehicle. It can carry nuclear and conventional payload. The kinetic impact alone is about 20 tons of TNT but that can be enhanced with an explosive payload. As for the claims that one storage facility provides ammo for 2 months of war that is nonsense. There is no such storage capability in a single facility on the face of the Earth. All the foliage on the cleared part has supposedly burned off yet no black burned patches and all the tree and shrubbery in the area show zero signs of damage or fire. Some confusions rised b your description of Avangard system : is not a "warhead" but yes, a hypersonic vehicle - a manuvering glider - who sits on top of the missile (the carrier) and is released at high altitude, moment when it starts maneuvering, in a variable, unpredictible trajectory, towards its target, at speeds reaching Mach 20 (high hypersonic). And yes, is true, easy to check for anyone with basic math skills, the kinetic energy of an object hitting its target as such speed multiplicated many times by the object mass, can reach very high values, in this case, equal or even bigger than the explosion of 18 tons of TNT. But the big problem for the target is in the fact the vehicle can be hardened enough to penetrate very deep underground, making such a weapon devastating even for deep, well protected bunkers...

I'm thrilled that Russia is finally taking their security seriously by testing Sarmats and Avangards. These are horrifying weapons the likes of which the world has never seen and will send a strong message of deterrence. It's disappointing to hear of the failed test but much like a space rocket it's important to test these weapons systems carefully to determine their boundaries and capabilities. These type of tests make the weapons systems more reliable which means less chance of danger to innocent civilians which Russia, unlike their nazi enemies, take quite seriously.

I look at the picture and ask a couple of questions having seen videos of some of the major launches of the huge ballistic missile launches. First, large crater but where is the debris? Nothing appears to be scattered like huge chunks of concrete. Second, not much of a scorch mark around the crater. Why with all that fuel wasn't a giant torch sent off into space as well as burning 50-100 meters out in all directions especially into the forests the way the two ammo dumps burned. Just above the word "time" is a typical missile silo. (You don't stick 2 silos together in the same area) It has a huge protective cap with a door that blows open seconds before the firing trigger. There is a strip to the right where the tractor trailed maneuvers in to set up for the massive tilting of the missile to lower it into the silo. In this region there are a number of combat silos (62 d 42.50m 99s North 40d 11 m 04.07 s East ) The Kosmodrom Piesetsk is at 62d 55m 39.75s North 40d 34m 30.0 s East. For a US Minuteman II silo (there are 4 north of this one off Nebraska Hwy 71) go to 41d 17m 42.55s North 103d 39m 41.45s West. Again only one missile per immediate area.

The US Minuteman III ICBM for example has failed on the launchpad both in 2023 and 2022 and its development is stalled. The Sarmat is in Military Service and is continually improved and updated its latest variants being 2018 and 2022. The Russians will just get back to work learn, improve and succeed because they are unrivaled by anyone this isn't a setup back, embarrassing or anything like that that is typical Western media whitewashing and Russians don't care I don't care (and I aint even Russian) Russia has many ICBM missiles which are decades ahead of US equivalents the marvelous 'Topol' for example. Then there is the 'Avangard' a nuclear powered jet engine intercontinental ballistic glide vehicle for which passed tests and has no equal in the World PERIOD! No one doubts Russian ICBM Missile Firepower but Western Media Propaganda will always paint the picture of the opposite. In War with NATO guess what Russia would do in the first few minutes Cripple American and NATO Satellite's and ISR and how will it do it? On September 17th Russia lunched the Angara-1.2 rocket carrying a classified payload into Earth's orbit, With military satellites on board, the exact mission remained undisclosed. Russia has launched the Kosmos 2575 military satellite in 2024 and similarly in 2002 and 2023 this baby sparked allot of concern in Washington. Testing a missile system (not a “nuclear warhead”) popping up from a nuclear hardened bunker is quite complex. The silo itself must be properly built and maintained. If you have 3 successes and 5 failures for a brand new system, that’s actually not a very bad ratio. The missile has proven it works with 3 successes. After successes, the designers will test for abnormal launch conditions or the silo may have reached a point of degradation such that it no longer provides a viable launch environment. Remember, this is not an open air launch. Massive amounts of explosive power must be properly vented, this is a liquid propulsion rocket so the lines attached to the missile must be fully functional. If you keep using the same test silo over and over for the same missile - that wear and tear could cause problems. The Sarmat is a HUGE and heavy missile. The Baluga missile (SLBM) went through 10 years of nothing but failure before it was perfected. As for using such an outrageously expensive strategic missile system on Ukraine - that would be insane. These are not mass produced missiles and serve as the core, or backbone, of Russia’s strategic deterrent. For all the emotions surrounding this conflict - it would make no sense to use this missile in that theater. That would be absurd beyond belief.
