I really like the balance of time lapse and cut you settled on, feels like I'm getting the good parts without much repetition
@relsqui5 сағат бұрын
it would help though if you could move the camera less during time lapses, the jerkiness gets amplified when it's sped up

well not sure but the Kuhn rear mower only mows however the samaz rear mower also swaths therefore no requirement for a windrower that is the extra cost of the rear mower. great series see you found the forager trick in the end of your vid nice series rags to richers is alway hard try in to hard mode with no lease no borrow no additional loans and no equipment sales either that is the way i play most of the time.

but enjoyment is a thing and even I being a grinder type player gets sick when doin' something 100 times. Thats why I suggest to play on easy and MAYBE move to normal.

That is pretty hardcore haha. I feel like that might be a little too grindy for a KZbin series though, I think I will keep it on medium difficult for now

Not sure if anyone sugested it, but a bunker silo can turn the grass into silage (pretty sure) so its a relatively cheap way to increase your profit by 2-3 times without having to buy a baler/wrapper. They're also relatively cheap (25k For the smallest one) Also good since the only real thing you need is a front loader/forage wagon. Great vid btw.

Forgot to mention that it probably fits in the empty space you have at the bottom of the field

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking about doing a silage bunker, that might be my best option!

Nice series. Grass has two "ready-to-harvest" stages. Waiting for the second stage will give you a higher yield (+50%). You can see when grass hits the secons stage when it's as high as the grass on the side. Making silage through a clamp/bunker or wrapped bales increases profit. Be aware you need to compact the grass in the bunker. Best is to use two bunkers so you can mow grass while one bunker is fermenting. Maybe have a look at back mowers that are able to swath grass. Not all (cheaper ones) can do that and then you need a rower (can still be cheaper but more work). I wouldn't use back mowers but hook up the forager for small fields though (as in your video). Optimising grass yield you can do with a meadow/grass roller (not the same as a field roller, look under "grassland care") instead of fertilising as rolling adds a fertilising stage and resets growth. Roll right after mowing. It will not destroy the mowed off grass. Some perfectionists go for a 2x full yield (100%) + 2x fast yield (66%) to get a bit more grass out of the field on a yearly basis (333% instead of 300%). I stay at 3 full ields per year. Grass doesn't grow in winter, so be sure it's growing before winter in order to get a fast yield the year after (mow in April, July and October) Good luck!

@skye_hinoКүн бұрын
This was true in FS22. However, testing has shown that in 25, there is only a negligible increase in yield with the second harvest stage. You actually get more per-year by harvesting ASAP, and getting 4 harvests a year. Also, grass rollers appear to be broken atm. I used one the other night, and my grass just stopped growing afterwards.

You are realy killing it. Love the series. Dont stop
@skye_hinoКүн бұрын
Silage additive was a thing in 22. If you're doing silage (bales or the bunker method) it will give a 5% yield boost. Also, the reason the green butterfly mower (the back ones) are so much more than the red one, is because it has a built-in windrower. You can mow that entire width, and have it deposited in a single swath.

from what i saw in a video grass says ready to harvest 1 month before its at full growth. so if you get to the first month it says "ready to harvest" and then wait another month you get more grass. and not sure if you already know but grass uses 1 fertilization state per mow. so you can fertilize once per month untill its at second fert state, then just fert once every time you mow

I think the cheaper rear mower does not windrow so you will need to get one of them too. Some mowing contracts all they want you to do is cut the grass, if you did it with the forage wagon on the back you get the grass free. You could also fit a silage clamp on the narrow bit of land between the road and the field.
@jessyhanson62893 күн бұрын
I don't know if it's been mentioned but under the grass care section there is a roller that will bring the fertilization state up after you harvest. Save on having to buy fertilizer.

The dirtiness of the tractor and equipment does affect how quickly it gets damaged. So it is actually wise to get a washer and then spend less on repairs. :)

silage additive tank is not new. it boosts the time and quantity. collect the grass build a cheap bunker, put the gras in bunker and cover the grass with tarp. you can make way more money selling silage than grass and it's not complicated to do. also you don't need additive for the grass in the bunker to make silage.

Also the silage additive isn't new it was in FS22 it can be worth it in long run if u added it but only if u have a silage pit the store the grass until turns in to silage

Ok, that makes sense, thanks for the info! Yeah while I was editing that part I was thinking maybe it was in '22, I guess I never did much silage in that one. I played FS19 a ton, but didn't actually play '22 that much. Loving '25 so far though

Do land prices depreciate, could you sell the current field to buy another grass field and do the same again?
@syrupgames16 сағат бұрын
I don't believe the land prices change... I've seen other players do a "land flipping" method where they buy a field that's ready to harvest, then they harvest the crop and resell the land. I don't really want to do that for this challenge though. It's not really cheating but it feels a bit like an exploit to me and doesn't really vibe with the spirit of this challenge imo
