for anybody who want to try to do forestry(at least on PC),for cranes and grabs i recommend using console joystick(i have cheap offbrand) and delete all setting and just set mushroom/thumtack(whatever is the name) for control of crane and back buttons for open/close and rotate! in just under 5minutes i fall in love with cranes

I said for PC players and without combos like x+any other button as is usually on consoles, and i find it easier this way, and i wanted to share it with those that want to try! Don't do a pallet fork. The logging winch is a much better option. Should be able to drag those logs to the mill no problem.

I belive the idea behind the pallet fork is so they can grab the finished product (planks and beams) and load it into the pickup truck. However, I agree that they should buy the winch, its soo good

Flipping used vehicles and equipment is a valid income stream alongside contracts. You could buy from the used machinery offers, repair at the shop and sell it for a profit, perhaps getting the machine used a while increases the realism. Looks legit on the survival rules.

Get rid of some of those stones and it may help with placeables. I’ve found that often times trees also have a large invisible box and the same may be true for those removable rocks. You’ll need a skid steer tho.

Just found out that you can customize some sheds when you place them, add solar panels on top and they generate income. Trees can also change growth stages when you place them.

I got the small sawmill and the small carpentry on my farm. For some reason the small carpentry does not accept unprocessed wood, even though one of the production recipes suggests it does. Only pallets of planks. Not so bad for me since I just drop the small planks from the sawmill into the receiving slot of the carpentry. But maybe worth keeping in mind if you want to set the carpentry to make furniture from wood instead of planks.

Got to ask...why haven't you purchased a heavier weight for the tractor? I know money is tight but they really aren't that expensive compared to how much easier it would be to lift the heavy logs. You've been struggling since episode 1 to lift heavy logs and seems like there is still the need for a decent more tree cutting so surely a heavier weight will save a huge amount of hassle and time handling the logs

The area restricted is a dedicated server issue, if you download your save game and run it locally you can place stuff where it says 'area restricted' then just re-upload your save game to the server. Not ideal but a workaround! We have the same issue on our Gportal server, downloaded the save file and was able to place sheds on the 'restricted area'.

12:20 the map has two data layers in the map editor. One with manually defined restrictions, and another with generated restrictions. These generated restrictions i presume are generated by trees, boulders, other props, etc., and i presume are intended to disapear when the object flagging the creation of the restricted area is removed. This does not seem to happen. the only way to fix this is to go into the giants editor, open the map, go to the terrain info window and select the autogen restrictions layer (or whatever its called) then select bit 0 and with right click erase that value across the layer. You can use mouse wheel to increase the size of the brush. You should be able to save the map after that. I was unable to find a way to update the map mid save so you may need to start a new save and transfer your stuff over (this is what i did).

Pretty sure your weight will happily connect to that trailer. On my series, I've got a weight that I just leave connected to the trailer I'm pulling logs with. When I'm doing forestry, I connect to the weight and then drop the trailer when I'm ready to load.

if you're doing collectibles, there is a large pipe in the loft of the old barn next to field 14 where you did one of the contracts. that large pipe is a collectible.

areas is restricted because its likely a breakable rock which is an object in the game. So the area right around that object is restricted so that when you smash the rock and it creates its stone piles they dont interfere with another placeable. Good to see that you got the sawill. Going to definitely increase the bank balance. I was seeing that the best dollar per liter of wood is the normal planks. that said I dont know if you actually get paid for taking the processed wood to the construction projects or not. I will have to try that next time I jump on my game, because if you do I will light up all 3 processing options to faster get rid of my wood backlog. Just had an idea for a new series.... "Dennis Plays FS25." Playing farming simulator in the true spirit of Dennis from the roleplay series doing everything the way Dennis would, forgetfulness and all. I can just imagine Dennis trying to navigate rice crops.

⁠Some weights have pin connector on the back, or the, front of it, depending on if it is on the rear or front of a tractor. A trailer with pin hinge can be connected directly to the weight. Very handy for logging work…😊😊

The weight allows for trailers with the loop style like the logging trailer, so you don't have to put the weight up front.

@Daggerwin Just an FYI if your trimming a tree point your chainsaw away from the tree then hold left click and it will stay on and then you just have to point for trimming, aka it wont try to cut anything while your holding left click.

When you're carrying something that just barely keeps the rear tires off the ground like that, you can curl the forks under to move the weight further back.

Also if anybody can help me i bought a cultivator as well for the contracts but for some reason the ai just cant seem to finish some of those in time lol, is there a way to fix this? You guys shoot look into carrots, parsnips and red beets. The harvester for that is only like 40k and the planter around 25-30k and it brings in between 8 and 10k per hectare
