Harvesting Chayote Squash on Oct 8, 2024. Peterborough, ON, Canada. Zone 5B. This is the 3rd year that we planted chayotes with success. Some will be saved until next April for planting. They have to be started indoors in March and plant in the ground at the end of June in order for them to have enough time to produce the chayotes.
