Congrats on your recognition and the honor to speak at this school. I am in S. La. and picked my first tomato this week. It was a Jet Star variety and many more will be ripening soon. Enjoy your channel.

So what’s the rule on taking off the lower leaves? Looks like you wait til the trusses have good-sized clusters and trim off a bunch!

Do you ever use clones to fill your next round? You can easily get 1k clones in one day. Saves a ton in seed overhead.

Serious question (at the risk of being a dumb question): How are your tomatoes in the high tunnels pollinated? Don't you need pollinators (bees? butterflies?) to have access to the blooms?
@carolynsteele51163 жыл бұрын
Tomato blossoms have the ability to self-pollinate, so you don’t need bees. They just need some air motion. Dre probably has a fan in the high tunnel.

Andre, make sure the students disinfect shoes and clothes, to prevent diseases in your precious tomatoes.
